Implode? That particular 'title' makes no sense AT ALL if we're using the current American definition of a Libertarian. It is a total contradiction.

I wouldn't be so sure. As mushmaster once pointed out, you could have voluntary socialism within a libertarian society(i.e. communes). Libertarianism is essentially about letting people do their own thing, so if people want to form a collective, that's perfectly acceptable in a libertarian society, so long as they do not force it upon other people.

I think that's more a socialist living under a libertarian system then a 'socialist libertarian'. Sclorch didn't really define what he meant by the initial term though so not totally sure.

I think if someone supported a libertarian form of government, but chose to live under voluntary collectivism, that might count as socialist libertarianism. Of course the term is rather vague.

Again, socialist libertarian = liberal on social issues, collectivist on economic issues. i.e. bottom-left of the politicalcompass.org chart.
