The Magical & Dreadful Year Of 1969.

<-----Yup my post count.

Anyhow, I wanted this to be a special post. A post where my fellow Shroomerites can post remarks about that wonderful year. Such remarks about memories, backward aspirations, feelings etc.

Make your post a Documentary if you'd like. No Rules for 1969!

To me...

It seemed that many was catching the Love Bug..

Boys & Girls were being exposed..

In no time, the bug was being spread by many eager beholders..

Then, One day this man heard strange new sounds coming from an instrument when played upside down and all around..

He freed the Soul with a warming Fire!

Yup it was a strange time, that 1969..

&

Awesome 1969th post. Five shrooms.

1969 reminds me a lot of this man..

I don't agree with anything he did, nor much of what he stood for.But lately I have been reading a number of book about him.I guess in trying to understand it all. Maybe it's because the 60's are my favorite decade. The peace and love, and what he did was every thing opposite of that.

The best book by fare that I have read is...

Took me two days to read this book. Longest that it has every takin' me to read anything. But more then well worth it.Though I am still looking for more information and readings and recordings of his music and such that I have heard he has done. Might prove to be interesting.

And then there is my favorite band, the Beatles.( I guess they really weren't together at that time, but still ) And Leary. Amount other tons of things , but I'm sure I better end this post.

*edit* Sorry about the spelling.

Cool post Mojo. I could be mistaken but isn't the second from last pic from Woodstock '99? Or maybe you put it there for comparison.

I wouldn't have any experience with 1969, since I was born in '75. I hear it was good times, though.

I was born in 1984. But those years(and that one) were so strong that you can feel them all these years later.

How could i forget the Moon landing....damn most of my friends parents worked at Nasa...I remember all of us all excited and getting to stay up late to watch it...they didnt land until about 2 in the morning and most the parents were drunker than shit...it was a good time ...I still only live about a mile away from Nasa and all the other major companies like Boeing,Ford Aerospace,Lockheed ectera
The only bad thing about being so close is the pilots train at Ellington AFB and they really revvv those jets up loud sometimes during the day

Lets go...

And it's one, two, three,

What are we fighting for ?

Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,

Next stop is Vietnam

And it's five, six, seven,

Open up the pearly gates,

Well there ain't no time to wonder why

Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Yeah, I've always thought the same thing. If you listen to the actual audio of it there is a pause there. I always envisioned him turning off his com for a second and cursing at that point when he realizd he fucked it up.

It would've sounded like this if you were standing next to him:
"That's one small step for man...AWW FUCK!...one giant leap for mankind."
