Afraid of Psilocybe Subaeruginosa Lookalikes
    #28808815 - 06/11/24 07:00 AM (9 days, 14 hours ago)

Habitat: ACT, Australia, Pine forest

Gills: Cream/Purple

Stem: 5-10cm, thin, white, stiff, solid.

Cap: 1-3cm, caramel/greying, slimey when fresh but always smooth.

Spore print color: Many specimen I find do not produce spores anymore. Those that I do find which produce spores and I remember to spore print are usually dark purple, or dark brown.

Lately I have found many many specimen and have failed to spore print quite a few specimen.

Bruising: From a blueish hue, to unmistakable dark blue colouring.

Other information: Typically I pick subearuginosa’s where their caps are more textbook caramel in colour, and immediately bruise blue upon pinching. However, amongst these ideal specimen I find many that are more dried out and have started greying. These are pictured in my post. I wish to know if these too are subs, or if I have mixed in a lookalike (Cortinarius rotundisporus, Gallarina, etc.).

I have many many more photos of specimen I am happy to share, however I am limited by the maximum upload size for this post.

We can't help unless you upload a picture.

To do that look at the top left of the page, where it says "Welcome MrMycoangulo". Under that should be a link that says "Pics", click that.
Will take you to another page. Somewhere under the "Pics" link should be an "Upload" link. Click that.

Upload your pictures and once you've done that the page should refresh with your picture. Under that picture should be a string of code, copy and paste that code into your post and we can then see your mushrooms.

But yeah, photos!

Maybe it is me :wellhello:

But yeah the maximum upload size is a limitation but you can get around it by uploading a few photos (I think 5 is usually ok) and then repeating until done.

It’s a bit slow when you have a lot of photos but it’s manageable.
