Good vibes your way FungusGnat
I'm glad someone appreciated it I just consider them to be housemates at this point, although I've somehow managed to not have a massive infestation this spring. Good luck on your battle, sending those good vibes right back at ya

Would anyone be able to help point out why spraying an insecticidal soap on my plants would end up doing such a type of damage? Theyve recently been moved to full sun all day but were slowly acclimated to it since April. Some plants have some mild scarring and some look burnt from it. I'm usually more on the side of non action when it comes to these and I don't know why I panicked and sprayed over a few little maybe pests. First I'll show a before pic from week or so of this bridgesii graft and how it is now, followed by others. Thank you in advance to anyone that helps, for now the worst of them are back to morning sun only.

Weeping black rot. Bridgesii is notorious for that. My experience is that it comes in strong and then goes away and leaves nasty scars/ then afterwards they just seem to grow out of it.
As for the bottoms ones i dont know what that scabbing is. It doesnt look too serious really. Brand new parents are very overprotective of their children. So dont over think it too much. Just watch, listen and learn and you will be ok

Hey man thanks! good to know it's normal and passes! The other pics are showing marks left by the soap but I originally thought it was all possibly linked to the soap.

I just ordered some Trichocereus pachanoi seeds from smart seed emporium. Any others but stuff from there? Any opinions on them? I can't wait to join all of you with growing these. I was also going to order a cutting from Mallacht's Plants. I was think the Mallacht cut, which is a peru x bridge. Any thoughts on that cut? I'm a complete noob to the world cacti, but I learn quick so I'm excited to get started.

I never spray mine. With anything. Even insecticidalsoap. I just let the plants adapt. I have an insectidal soap but i use it on rare occasions. Im just letting everything thrive and survive or it gwts wiped. Sucks but after you have so many plants in your possesion, the los of one rarely even phases you. Just tryin to be realistic.
Those are gonna be sone fine specimens one day. You watch

The mallacht is gonna be your best bet for some premium cuts. Super healthy cuts.

I hear that man. It becomes an artform keeping up with them sometimes I’ve recently been using BT solution and I think it does help. I used my first treatment of it a few months ago… and it seems like it really helped fix the problem. But slowly on the back burner, it came back again. I’m going to just start having a schedule with it (every 1-2 months or something) to keep the bacteria always in the mix. I finally got around to doing a root rinse tonight
