My GE micropore filters in jar lids are wet and rusted after PC?

So as the title says and the images show the micropore tape are wet and rusted. They've been sitting in the PC for a few days and i just opened them for g2g transfers. I had aluminum foil packed on the lids and did 90 minutes of 15 bars. Is there anything i can do to fix it? Will they be ok if i let them be? I'ts Natalensis but probably not relevant

They're fine. MP tape can get wet in the PC cycle (Bod has commented on this, among others...) and no foil is actually needed for it during. Just don't take them out right after cycle to avoid the pressure pulling the tape in the hole and stretching the fibers. I've left MP taped jars in my PC for days before and they're always fine. Rust won't hurt anything. Also cudos to you for using repurposed jars. I actually love those European style lids for easy lid removal. If they're handled properly they're great š

Omg that is such great news and a relief to hear! Yes I try to reuse as much as possible. The only slight issue i have with the lids are the fact that it the difference between loose and off are so tiny that i worry they open too much or gets closed in the PC, especially if i have to stack them on top of each other, the bottom one can close if not lose enough or be too open. Only happened a few times tho but still worth it to reuse i think
My only worry now is when it comes time to shake and break, is it possible that the oats can puncture the tape? Its a 5mm hole

IME micropore tape is not appropriate for sterilized grain jars. It allows WAY too much to get through even when double layered to maintain sterility inside the jar. Maybe you live in a desert area with no native spore load and have a super clean environment to store it in and can get away with it, but I wouldn't even think about relying on it here. I would much rather use unmodified lids and just leave them slightly cracked during colonization.
54% of .3u particles being filtered is not enough...

Damn ok I will get proper filters next time then, I live in scandinavia and i store the jars in my bathroom so definitely not sterile. Have done the unmodified lids once and it worked pretty well, but a lot of my jars are not suitable for that i think as the lids are almost pop off lids considering how little they need to be turned to take off?

It works fine. Has for many people for many years. I use two layers every time, and store jars in an abysmal environment and handle them like Bobby did Whitney. In a place where we get torrential rain, 15ft of snow every year, and have to fight mold constantly encroaching. Environment has nothing to do with anything if you're using proper sterile technique and your AO isn't a throughway for air currents. Use it until you get some stick-ons or whatever - but it works fine in the meantime. Just take them out like a half hour after the weight drops and stick them in your air box and voila.

I second what PBJ710 said. I“m not saying it doesn“t work, but it“s the last kind of filter i“d use. Double layer is by far not enough to me. If i would use it, i“d double layer for the pc cycle, and after the cycle more layers (above the meanwhile wet tape). If you“d have a look under a microscope, you“d be surprised about the random holes in the tape.
I“m a polyfiller , and it blows the tape out of the water. Polyfill is not the best though, but i use it for a loooong time now, and don“t need to replace it.

Now the tape has already dried up and i've done transfers. Can i put extra layers of tape now and if so how many? I have bought a pillow with polyfill that I can use as filter next time and just tape one layer micropore tape on top?

People use up to 5-6 layers or even more, and yeah you can add more now. As the jars need just a little gas exchange, you don“t need to worry about suffocation.
I never top finished the polyfill with mp tape. Just like this
