panaeolina foenisecii or something better?
    #2878332 - 07/11/04 04:46 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

im in MA and am finding a lot of mushrooms that look like some kind of pan. usually the stem is about 2-4 inches, thin, grey/light brown. cap is usually a grey/light brown color (slightly more brown than the stem), half inch to an inch in diameter, sometimes cracked (almost looks blistered by the sun). theyre all over the lawn not usually in patches or anything. dont have any pics of them at this point, but the caps/stems look pretty similar to
these, colors just a little off. are they just foenisecii or some sort of panaeolus?

a spore print will differentiate panaeolus and panaeolina.

some pics. the third is a pic of two mushrooms that look similar to the others in shape and color except they are more shiny than the others. theyre also slightly darker brown whereas the others are more a dull creamy color with a darker rim around the bottom of the cap. in the last pic these darker ones are on the very left. printing them now, i'll get back with the colors. thanks again for any help.
