Are these oat grain jars contaminated?

These are mostly colonized with g2g transfers. Blue/green under the numbers. Also wondering if I should shake them or let them be? Solid overlay on some of them and amount of humidity in each glass varies. Is it safer to shake the dryer glasses or doesn’t it matter? I don’t have filtered lids on these, just slightly loosened lids. Perhaps higher risk of shaking them then?

You know tbh I’m not 100%. This is morphology I never see on my grains. It’s a little humid in some of those jars.
Tighten your lids and shake them. You’ll know in 4-5 days if they were good.

Try putting some grain to agar. That will tell the truth. But they do look like they are contaminated.

Smelly is right, shaking is the best course of action. I assume you are using oats or wheat but it looks like oats. those are contaminated. the overly ropey rhizomorphic growth is not a good standalone indicator, but combined with how the rest of the grains look, (fuzzy, spikey) and the odd morphology. I will admit that at first glance I was on the fence but something about that thing is not pleasing to my eye or my sense of security.
edit: my apologies i see now oats in the title

Those jars look sus, a lot of moisture in there as well. How do you prep your oats btw? Also are you using a SAB or flow hood to inoculate your grains?

I boiled them for 30-35 minutes, rinse in water and spread them on towels for a couple of hours and flip the towels over to get both sides. The jars in the pics might have been from my first batch where i didnt use the towels like that tho hence why they're too moist. I used a SAB.
I shook them all and all except one jar shows nothing other than fully white mycelium. So my plan is to try spawning them if they dont smell These are Natalensis btw so prone to a lot of overlay I've heard.

Do that prep before bed and let them sit on the towel overnight. 2 hours isn't enough time

Some of that just looks like bruised mycelium to me, but i can´t tell what the large darker spot might be. shake it and wait.
