Is Canterbury as bare as I think it is? Everything is dry. Usual good spots have almost nothing :-|

Sometimes old patches mycelium network get exhausted and don’t flush as per season, best bet is to go looking for new places. Majority of mine and xthrx finds are from brand new places.

How are you guys finding such well hidden woodchip flax gardens and making them look like they're all absolutely full
It's either super dry where I am or there are a lot lot lot more hunters than there used to be. Still I can't seem to find the kind of environments from these photos in my area, just urban landscaping which I've seen plenty of gym and galerina. Found something that I thought might have been right today, but the spot was too busy and right next to the road, they also looked too different form the usual thick white stem and heavy blue bruising I'm used to.
Had a few years off the hunt to focus on work but now I've been absolutely gripped by the urge to go out there and find something all of a sudden. Will be gutted if July rolls over and I still haven't found anything but ill try again after this week's rain and hopefully have some luck.
If anyone's familiar with Tga areas and BOP, have you ever had luck in the cities or do you need to venture further out to get any real chance of finding anything? Ignore this if it breaches the rules but happy to take pm's. I know this is frowned on but I'm down on my luck so far

fuck those are some crazy posts there!!!!
not got time to upload pics from the last few weeks but went out for a gentle stroll today with a few good people at riverhead, first time for me, was a pretty rewarding day and amazing to see these mushrooms for the first time.

Sounds like we didn't get as much as you did yesterday blazer, but i was still pretty happy with my first time out. helps to have people who know the place i would have got lost fast.

Looks like you found a respectable number though.

Why are they so wiggly? Were they growing towards the sun, like a sunflower? Lol

found some chunk wereroa in my sub patch today. The white with deep blue caught my eye under the cabbage tree litter. lovely! unfortunately my potato phone keeps taking blurry shots, it also opened itself up while in my pocket and was one step away from sending the photo of them in my hand to the builder i was about to go and meet about some work....

Night hunting sucks, went yesterday after work in the rain and half dark and got an okay haul (by my standards) went back to the same area in daylight and got the same amount today, missed so many. Photos come out nice with the flash though.

afternoon, nice to see everyone getting some early season hauls
Sometimes you just need to sit and watch, quick stroll out for some sushi yesterday, and these appeared at my feet.

Made for a tasty lunch

After so long of nothing, I finally found one truly unintentionally in a park I walk through on most of my lunch breaks. Lots of roundhead Larry's around and the Subs kinda just blended in so well with the grass covered woodchip compared to those. Once I had my memory jogged on what to look out for I found so many I had to get a dehydrator
I destroyed some mycelium the first time around trying to be quick to not be seen by anyone, but I made sure to pocket some of it and spread it to other local gardens. Left a bunch of pins and returned the next day to find a lot more, so it doesnt seem like anyone else is eyeing this spot
This is one of the many little patches if you can spot them

Goes to show how easy they are to miss. Nothing quite like what you're all finding but ill search for some new patches over the weekend
Cheers for the inspo, this has been a good motivation to spend more time outdoors
