I just got caught running from the police 1

I got an electric skateboard and was running from the police on it in the middle of night literally midnight. Anyway I was using some drugs with my friend and was going to the gas station to get cigarettes when they pulled up and flashed there lights we had crossed the road when the light said not to. Anyway my friend stopped but I took off my skateboard hits 32MPH so I was going fast as a car and they had a speakerphone saying this is the police stop now. Anyway I just hit as fast as I could and it was so dark I couldn’t see the side wall if there was a crack or something on the side walk I would have fallen. Anyway I spotted train tracks hit the brakes and grabbed my board and ran so the car couldn’t follow found a road and tried to drive off on the board again. They must have known where I was going because they pulled up from a neighborhood and I hit a dead end after hitting 30-32MPH again hit a speed bump in the neighborhood did a jump and almost crashed. I grabbed the board and tried running through the woods in the dead end but tripped on a branch was so dark I couldn’t even see. They had multiple cars at this point and had drawn a weapon and said if I moved they will shoot.
Anyway I gave up my legs bleeding and sprained my ankle but I had no drugs on me. Luckily they let me go I said I thought a gangster stole a cop car and was following me and admitted to being under the influence. For some reason they didn’t even charge me I was on the sidewalk and stuff mostly I was speeding in the neighborhood but only by 5mph. It’s cool weed is legal if this was another state I would be in jail I got really lucky. I just thought I could outrun them on a bike trail or something but dang I don’t know what I was thinking I was throwing up from the adrenaline rush and stuff. I want to do it again but they got my information and wrote a warning.

It was worth a shot. Was it fun? Up until the point of being caught.
Guns drawn is a bit excessive. I've had cops overreact on me too. Twice. I guess they assume if you're running you may be running for good reasons. I don't think I'd get guns drawn for running in Canada but it's hard to say.
Oh I must have phased your last couple sentences. Yes it was fun.

Trip you gotta be more careful man. You could’ve gotten shot.
Honestly, they only care if you’re trying to sell drugs. If you’re just high. They don’t give a shit.

Agreed. No reason to run, you’re just putting unnecessary risk to yourself, in the worst of scenarios risking serious bodily injury.
All good tho man, you’re safe and more or less unscathed. Next time just have a book on the original constitution, as well as a concealed carry handbook. Be polite and they’ll probably leave you be and shake your hand

Oh there's a reason to run: It's fun!
No of course I'm just kidding there's no reason to run. Whether or not I would run would probably depend on what state I'm in. But if I have nothing on me I don't think I would.

Captain, we’re you and your friend on anything else other than legal weed before the bastards chased you down?
I think it’s an important question. If you had written “we were blind drunk”—I guarantee the responses would be very different. It’s important to note that legal weed isn’t reason enough to power off on public roads from the cops on a motorised skateboard….and I’m not condemning it under certain circumstances. I’m just wondering if whatever drug you took mightn’t lead to less than favourable split decision making.
Captain you should thank all the entities attending you for keeping you from serious harm that night. A wild and absolutely hilarious story…but how do you feel afterwards man? Why did you take off and your friend stay put?
What’s the lesson?
I guess when you are mid peak experience like a deer sprinting from gathering wolves, you become more human that most will know in a lifetime. So there’s that.
Wishing you well and no further involvement with the police, who may or may not have tried to soften their aforementioned heavy handed pursuit and gun drawing by giving you only warnings.
Brother…take good care.

One time I was drunk at an Internet cafe with a "friend" and he convinced me to drink while on the computer, and they called the police, I thought we both took off, I was also on a normal skateboard, and I got away, I tried looking for the guy I was with for a bit before going home, well the next day I found out he didn't run and got hit with a ticket, and he blamed it on me, but if it was the other way around he would have ran too

At least you didn't get tackled and jumped on. That's what happened when I tried to run once.

I want an e skateboard, I have an e scooter and currently am nursing torn ACL because I crashed. You should be conscience of the legal grey area these devices fall under and not heat them out by running from cops.
But I'm a hypocrite because I have also fled, one way congested streets are easy to escape. I kinda don't feel bad they tried to stop me scootering in goddamn needle park, and I beaked off maybe stop the people smoking drugs if you have nothing to do, and I think I said pigs too, they had to chase me to save face. I try to avoid this stuff, they might recognize me some other time, fleeing on a e skateboard is probably still a felony

In what world do you think cops call your mom and dad?
Anyway, running from cops is great. I got away from them once on foot in broad daylight. They caught up to me later by mail cuz they were able to figure out who I was. Oh well, I got away at the time and wasn't arrested that day

Ah! It was the running from the police thing that got the 0 rating. Okay you too are a little quick on draw.
No I can see how it is reasonable. I just have a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to cops and overreacting. I find they can be a little too quick on guns drawn.
It's probably my own emotional issues I had my door kicked down guns in my face over a misunderstanding so maybe I'm just a little judgmental towards cops because of silly emotional bias.

HEY! ChatGPT says police in most departments only draw guns when somebody runs in moments of perceived threat. I WIN! HAH!
It is not normal for police to draw guns just because somebody is running.

Running from the cops is just added charges and added danger. You should be polite, respectful and friendly.
Deny, deny, deny, admit to nothing. The correct answer to any question is generally no.
If they want to search your car and you have anything in it, politely tell them no, but obey any commands they give you and don't cause trouble. They will search the car anyway, they will find your drugs, you will go to jail, but by doing all of that, your lawyer has a shot at getting it thrown out.
Once they decide to arrest you, shut the fuck up and don't say a word other than "with all due respect, I'd like to wait to say anything until I get a chance to talk with a lawyer." Don't believe anything they say, cops can and will lie and try to talk to you to get you to self incriminate. Don't talk.
Moral of the story: don't carry drugs in your car or on your person, then you have no reason to run anyway. Don't run, the alternative to running is way easier and better than running.

Sometimes running is the right answer. I'm certainly glad I did and they didn't give a shit about it either
You need to STFU from the get-go, not once you know you're being arrested, because at that point you've already said too much. If you start out letting them know you aren't answering questions or allowing them to do things you don't have to, IME they'll know you aren't someone to fuck with and won't push it. It's those suckers that think they're smart enough to talk with causing themselves trouble that they really push into some bad situations
This video is great training for how to handle any police interaction
