That looks great, actually! I would keep that culture, very even full flush in a convenient processing size
As long as the potency is there, of course.

Some Mel TP from the agar wedges BK gave away a while back, I hadn't fruited it in a while, my agar plates of it actually fizzled out because I didn't keep up with it but I had given it out to another person who sent it back to me, happy to see it again.

Those are so pretty! I'm running some AMVP's that kind of look like your melmaks except albino, and they blobbed on me. The sub shrank a shit ton on me half way too, so I assume they're thirsty and I should've thrown in verm when i made the sub? Any advice would be great 😊

Verm is always a good idea if available. It allows your sub retain that much more water than coir by its self. Since mushrooms are mostly water, the mo' water the mo' better!

I have had some really huge flushes where the sub had shrunk by at least two inches on all sides, they really drink up the water so you could maybe use more water when making the sub, idk if that helps or not as I haven't experimented with wetter subs. Despite the shrinking, they still produce really well, and I usually heavily mist the substrate down and get a 2nd flush that is around 1/3rd of the weight as the first flush.

Made several pint jars of spawn from multispore plates back in April... Then forgot about them for two months in the back of my closet

Since they were so old I decided to do an outdoor grow with them instead of just tossing them out...
Scraped off the old pins and mixed the 5+ cups of old spawn into just under 4 gallons of equal parts CV and Black Kow/chopped straw in a 9 gallon planter. Compressed the substrate after mixing and set it in my cold-frame outside on June 4th to colonize. Here it is as of this morning 16 days later:

**Grow-Tub Update**
Pins that popped up two days ago have grown substantially, and more are breaking through the surface... I think this is going to be a fairly full tub by the time they all grow out

Already got some promising looking pins, can't wait to see how they develop....
A couple big boys... this one is the biggest, already over 3/4" wide:

A couple showing clustering genetics:

And some weirdos:

Love the double stem/cap one, wondering if that "Double-Wide" trait is an environmental fluke or can be stabilized? Melmak DW anyone? lol

All I know is the swabs given to me were labeled "Melmak" So unless there was a labeling mix up...
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think these aren't them?

Melmak has a very specific look and gets huge.
These are smaller ones

I have had reverted ones once but they were still enormous.

I saw a couple people posting they had Melmac and they looked like a normal cube. They didn't say revert or anything so maybe mislabeled things are being passed around. Hard to mistake Melmac... Mac 95
