There are pins forming and my jar colonisation is only 50% complete!
Should I let them grow for a while, or case the myc now?
Ill take some pictures tomorrow.

Hard call, what do you think caused premature pins? were there any temprature jumps or anything? If its only at 50% colonised, id be inclined to let it continue, but if the pins grow invitro, you could have some problems.

The humidity and temperature have gone up a bit, about 2 degrees and its been raining and the humidity has gone up 10%, i also changed the terrium that it was in and now is probably getting more sunlight.
So i guess i should have been more careful, but what do i do now? is it ok to case the 2 jars that have pins forming? and try and get rid of as much excess vermiculte as possible?

Your temp says 75f. Isnt that fruiting temp? From what the guides say you need to raise your temp a lil towards 80-86f. Then lower to 75 when your rdy to fruit. But i dunno anything tho =p

I'd leave them in the jar. Taking it out is just asking for contams. you want them in complete darkness and 86 degrees for incubation when you birth drop to 70 and then give it light put it in the dark and raise the temp and best bet is to just wait it out and see

That kind of sucks. From my experience on premature pinners, these look like failures. It's ok though, no better way to learn than from your own mistakes. You can still use that little part for getting a spore print though. Cut a perfect cube out of it, make sure your cube is only colonized portions, and put the pinhead right side up. Bury this in a mini casing recipe (peat moss, coco coir, whatever is preferable or available) and that one mushroom will probably grow. If the cube of mycelium is big enough, it will probably grow good size. It's obviously nothing to get a real yield from, but it's always a good call to continue getting prints and keep the whole cycle going. Good luck with all that, and trust me, you'll never be a true cultivator with making and learning from these kind of things. Always keep yourself educated, even the oldest of growers (Stamets, Gartz, etc..) know that there is always more to be discovered.
