No, I didn't take prints this time, just threaded them up to dry.
These were found on an island on the licking, the river/creek that surrounds it just went down so I could finally cross and check spots. A week ago every one I found there had spores..
There were lots of young ovoids and pins so I might go back and pick a few more just to print, I didn't have a lot of time to hunt yesterday, this place is infested with ovoids tho.
With the temps dropping to normal, and all this rain I'm sure you'll find something where you are.

It is amazing the color change ovoids go through once they get mature. THey really loose a lot of brown and tan colors and go ghostly.
My main patch hasnt done much in about two week, it was way early this year and went off in april. I picked a few yesterday. Starting to get good weather and i've been home every day lately to go out there and water it on the dry sunny days. I think going to get another flush going. Nice and sticky wet/cool this morning.

For the veterans in here, lets say the ovoids get soaked, go bad etc. If things were to dry up some would they flush again once the moisture has balanced out from TOO wet to just right or is it fucked? My hope is that once that ideal ratio has been reached they would go crazy mode from all the extra moisture.

Looks off to me. White gills aren't a good sign. Also no veil remnants and no bruising.

Just took a little walk. Found an ovoid mingling with an imposter.

Still going strong here! Been finding them here for about 5 weeks now.

ZkorpionKng said: HEYO so I decided to visit my local park as I waited for my weed guy just for the fucks of it AND COULDNT BELIVE MY EYES I saw this small patch of lighter looking “wood chips” I saw from a far and noticed this glory view

Brother I am from New Jersey, central to be exact I saw someone mention Assupink!? Which gave me inspiration bc I literally went there the last time it was rainy like 2-3 days ago and didn’t find dick
I was very weary of these bc the stem was so thick and full and I was sure I needed hollow stem
However it’s been bout 5-8 minutes since I cut this big chunky boy and there’s no doubt It smells like it too

SO now my question is, how do I keep this patch alive!?? How can I spread the mycelium??? How can I help them prosper to other good chips near it How can I start my own local patch!?!
Thank you guys for all the help you’ve given me and a lot of credit has to go to this thread May god bless where you walk 🙏
I went to assunpink and found jack shit, On the shipetaukin I haven't found pins yet (only myc) but nearby in some mulch I found some guys today. Near north jersey raritan I found some as well, gonna go look there again friday.

(I wasn't trespassing - the area is public, the sign is just for the ropes course thing itself, which is dangerous when used unsupervised)

As previously said, my spots are either too old or new. So after some extensive studying of Google maps, I'm going to try 2 possible 3 other spots. I've hunted all 3 in previous years but have NEVER found any there before. 1 of those spots should be optimal due to it being made up of mostly debris, hence me dubbing it "Debris-Island". It's a catch-all at a main bend in the river, same with 1 of the other spots that has a debris wall. #3 spot I'm on the fence because it's mainly rocks/trees but it's been a few years & shit changes.
Wish me luck.

Saw some new ID's coming up in northern NJ on iNaturalist, figured I'd give southern CT another shot this year since we've had rain on and off the past week.
Went to a park I meant to explore last year but ran out of time... Really wished I went last year!

Gill Shots:

Bruising:

These things stink good, instantly reminded me of the way natalensis smell.
I've got a bunch printing and I still want to get some spores under the ol' scope to confirm, but I think I just found my first ovoids... and on my first trip out too - Hot Damn!
