Have you tried them before?

Can you share some of your experience?

Just curious... This is the germ plate I inoculated on 3/28. I isolated T1s on 4/15 and T2s on 4/24 and those look great, but looking at this parent now, I see a clear bluing. Is this normal for Subtrops?

Subtrop myc is active so bluing is normal. I wouldn't trust that plate though. Too much going on imho

Do you have pics of the T1 and T2 plates? I don't think this is bad for an overgrown germ plate. Like blueberry said the mycelium blues very blue when stressed.

It's common. I have had several swabbed plates do this after they begin to dry out or if there is a breach in the polyfilm.

Just got back home after four weeks. I had a bag of the faster line already colonized for over a week before I left, and a jar of the slow line maybe 85% finished.

Here they are now, gonna spawn tubs soon. Pretty excited to run the slow genetics finally.

Might try eating some of the grain in the bag too.

First Bell Cap pin growing on a contaminated cake. I put the last test jars in the neglecto tub being that they are about 30% trich encased in mycelium. Helps to PC jars for the correct amount of time. Must have been pretty high when I cooked those. The culture is clean and the next round is looking good. At least this way I can likely clone something and get that going too.

I’m finally getting some decent-ish results. This has been a LONG process, no doubt my own fault due to inexperience. I grew the agar plates last summer, made the grain spawn in the fall, made the boxes at the end of February, and am now getting fruits. They are very slow to grow though. I have the lids cracked open but with a cloth tied on to keep gnats out, and they seem to like being misted 2x a day to the point of being quite wet, that is, large droplets.

I’m not an experienced psychonaut and my main goal is therapeutic use for treatment of PTSD and trauma. I’ve started with a mini dose (more than a microdose, but I wouldn’t call it as much as a low dose) for my therapy sessions of about 1.3 grams wet, and I’m very optimistic about it so far. We are using mainly an Internal Family Systems approach (if you haven’t heard of it, I recommend No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz) and for me it seems like a really good pairing.

I grew some PF classic and Costa Rican last summer, and I have to say that these guys seem a lot stronger. For me, it seems like with semperviva, less than 0.4 gram wet is a true microdose (subperceptual), hard to say exactly as my scale isn’t very accurate at that level. I’d hazard that actually 0.1-0.2 grams wet is for me subperceptible, which seems incredibly low compared to the cubes from last year. With the cubes if I recall, about 0.8 wet gram was a microdose and possibly a bit more. Not bad.  If you can be one thing, you should be efficient 😎

I tried a dose of semperviva, about 0.8-0.9 grams wet, and this was not a microdose for me. I got a bit of head load and body load, no visuals at all but not subperceptual. I’d call that an uncomfortable no man’s land of a dose, although it’s really not all that uncomfortable really. A bit of a general highish feeling sort of like after a half a glass of wine or something, like something is different but in general not all that interesting or helpful.

At the therapeutic dose of 1.3-1.5 grams wet, I got slight cev and oev, although I have to concentrate as if on a magic eye poster for the oev. However, for some reason this seems to help with the therapy as it sort of gets me into a meditative state, focusing on the oev. Interestingly, at this level I can also feel the presence of the semperviva mushroom (which is not like the cubes of last year). It’s like a conscious presence, alien yet familiar, gentle, and helpful, like a second therapist inside my consciousness.

I’m going to try a dose of about 1,8 grams wet to see how that is, before I go to my next session next week. I sort of get the feeling that it might be a better therapeutic dose, but I have to take the subway to get there and I don’t want to be tripping unexpectedly or over my head without being prepared. Going in 0.5 wet gram increments seems like a good rule of thumb for me as I think that seems to have small but noticeable differences.

Here’s my two boxes, they’re definitely semperviva (print gifted to me by RoscoeReturns ❤️ however I’m unsure which lineage he was sending out last year) but interestingly they’re looking chonkier than the usual spaghettis. Not sure if it’s just my own fault or what’s going on, but at any rate I’ve just been leaving them in there as they seem to take a long time to fully mature (or to do anything really) and it seems like it’s not hurting them to leave them until they either start sporulating or turning blue? I’ve only picked two fruits so far for my doses but I’m clearly gonna need to start drying them at some point, a very nice problem to have

These guys were from a millet grain spawn. The sub is a bit thicker than the other box, took longer to start pinning, but ultimately looks a lot better. Too many variables to figure out why, though.

These guys were from rye grain spawn and a slightly thinner sub, this box started fruiting first but only around the edges. It just started pinning in the middle a couple days ago. I saw this, which I thought was trich but on closer examination I think it’s actually just bluing? It’s not fuzzy and doesn’t come off on my finger. Why is it doing this?

So although it’s not the most objectively impressive result, it’s huge to me especially after having waited this long, and will be of great help in therapy. Thanks to the forums and especially Melgo for the pointers and advice, couldn’t have gotten this far without you! ❤️

An hour and a half later, I was beginning to feel definite effects
