ID needed for possible toxic effects
    #2877277 - 07/11/04 03:48 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

Found these growing in mulch, sprouted up after some rain during 65-70? temps. Growth halted after 80 degree temps (caps turned upward). There is regular soil under the mulch, but they seem to only grow in the mulch areas.

I need to know the ID and toxic effects, if my eyes go away from from the puppy for a few seconds, she can get a mouthful of these mushrooms.

Im taking a print right now. (I wish I could find my digital camera)

Those look close to Psathyrella candolleana, which is listed as edible. They are difficult to tell apart from several similar Psathyrella species which are of unknown edibility.

In an event, they are not one of the known standard deadly species. If your dog eats some and gets sick, they should get over it once they've emptied their stomach.

Happy mushrooming!
