My plates dry quick without the fogger running 5 mins or so every hour since there isn't much sub to retain moisture. But pans like more then cubes.

2nd flush coming in nice... at least for agar plates

For now.

We gonna figure this out eventually.

Even if it's just as a way to screw around with post-transfer plates that are on their way to the compost.

That's pretty legit. Looks like a whole lot more than a minor headchange to me. And enough to test the culture for sure.

Finally got around to throwing a Casing on these plates. Pretty obviously starving for air by all the aerial mycelium, which was expected in a wrapped plate.

Just hydrated coir/verm.
I put the lids back on to colonize again since they're most likely going to dry out quickly without it.
I left them unwrapped and just taped the whole stack together to sit on the shelf nicely.

Pretty late on the update but figured I'd post the fruiting of a few plates. All of the plates minus a couple slower vars like the APE have pins or knots.

In hindsight, I don't think I would've added the extra layer of coir. All that did was make it longer to colonize and fruit, and kind of nullifies the purpose of this quick fruiting tester method. Either way, it worked. The mini cakes didn't dry out at all in the watertub even though I left the top holes open on the ezdial tub I used. I would call it a success atleast for test plates.

Just got back to this thread, amazing .

Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, but it worked out good for me with cubes. With pans I got only 2 fruitbodies on one container out of five, but I'm still figuring out pans in general, so this might be due to something else, e.g. wrong casing, or bad fruiting conditions.

For fruiting conditions I just put the little open puck drop containers in a transparent bucket with perlite at the bottom and some holes at the sides. Kind of an unintended SGFC which was a leftover bucket of growing oyster mushrooms in it..

In general this might be a nice tek to experiment with substrate ratios and additives. You can vary different formulas very easily with just a tiny little space needed per container.
I think the appearance of the fruitbodies might benefit if the depths of the substrate is a more than an agar plate? I used about half an inch.

Whatever the results post it plz. I've been following that thread. I use the screw top holy grail containers but was thinking to buy some mini rounds w/ BRF added per that thread to my next agar dish PC run. The idea being to tiger drop the mini round BRF puck onto a clean colonized holy grail dish. Let the BRF grow out then drop the colonized puck into grain/hpoo master jars while leaving the agar behind. I'm wondering how stuck the colonized BRF will be to the colonized agar. Worse case, with the screw tops, I'll be able to tighten and break it before dropping.

I hadn't considered it but I'm will definitely end up with some unperfect or plenty of extras to try mini grows off agar dishes w/ BRF. Thanks for the idea!

I'm trying this tek right now to do test runs...

So instead of inoculating stuff with them, i'll try to fruit them directly.
