Look at them bottom watered abominations

Ain't they cute, still in the incubator? They're my first.
Anyway, I should be harvesting any minute now? I s'ppose. My question is what do I do with the smaller pins? Harvest them too or wait to see if they grow.
Like these I mean

Also those were premature birthed cakes. Myc has kept on growing, do I dunk and roll them, continue to bottom water, or just throw them away? Thanks in advance!

Time for harvest is up to you. Wanna take prints? Let the caps flatten out before you pick them. If not, the upright standing left hand would be perfect in time.
As a dunk is needed to replenish moisture, i never felt the need to reroll. What ya mean with `premature birthed cakes`?

Pins started appearing in the jar before the cake was fully colonized. I was suggested to birth them and bottom water them instead of letting the colonization process finish.

They're in a water tub alright to keep humidity levels where they must, but also they're in petri dishes with.a couple or 3 mm of water

I would not keep them in petri dishes it will attract contamination. The best place is the highest above the water as you can, that is where you will find the most humidity in your setup.

I haven't much of a clue, obviously. But a TC suggested it and that violet Tek seemed to make sense. I dunno, it seems that bottom watering is indeed a thing, maybe the key is not to overdo it?

If a massive pinset moves in, itΒ΄s time for bottom watering, never before. If you place them into water right after birth, itΒ΄s a call for trouble for me.

It was sort of the case, not for the massive pinset, but pins were already appearing in the jar without full colonization. I was suggested not to dunk&roll so as not to kill innocent shrooms and bottom water instead.

What kind of jars do you use? Tall half pints or the shorter wide-mouths?

Short ones like this

I think that my jars were too loose (I didn't pack at all) and that led to fragmentation and pins growing inside

OP, you will get better responses from people already familiar with your situation if you would have posted this in your original thread about these cakes. For everyone else trying to catch up, heres the thread:
