 Smoking datura flowers

i found some wild datura plants the other day and picked some flowers, they are dry now and i was wondering what kind of effects can be expected by smoking the flowers, they are datura metal..i can only find reports about eating the seeds.

be very careful. i suggest searching alot before you attempt even small amounts. not pleasant or fun at all

You`ll get high, i find it to be pleasent, i smoke brugmansia leafs and sometime flowers on a regular basis.
Dont make a tea.(Effectscome on quicker,last for longer,can be scary)

That's a good philosophy.
I've smoked datura flowers for an "effect," but counter to all i've read i haven't run across information regarding alkaloid content of flowers, i suspect it's slim to none. However A'ngelayka and I have smoked a joint rolled with flowers only and it tasted neat and was fun but i doubt it really had an effect other than my expectations of it.
However smoking leaves is different and i suggest you definitely start with small amounts and work up with leaves. But overall i don't suggest datura/tropanes to anyone.

As far as smoking something containing tropanes goes, I prefer henbane seeds. They even taste good, they taste like finnel seed. I could be wrong, but I always thought that the flowers were supposed to have a pretty high alkaloid content....

you know, i've never tried henbane seeds but there is mad history of them being smoked.
One time I got this cigarette in with a shipment of tobacco. It was tobaccum wrapped in a corn husk and there were little seeds in there that looked like fennel..
Seee.. how much contradictory information there is? Do the flowers contain a lot or a little or none? I always considered them relatively safe to smoke in comparison with seeds/leaves.. but i've been workign with this shit for ages. I use to smoke stramonium leaf cigarettes when i was out in the fields harvesting seed pods and such. I have never had a characteristic datura trip but i've had a very close relationship with this deadly plant. I talk very lightly about ingesting this plant and I probably shouldn't so please be very carefull and DO NOT consider anything as condoning its use.
A mixture of toloache flowers and rustica makes a very sacred smoke . nice to get yourself in the right state of mind prior to a voyage or when one needs guidance/meditation.
The people I have worked with , with the datura metel flowers, usually find them to be very spiritual but far from atypical tropanic intoxication. When I use it , which is VERY SELDOM, i only use a small piece about 1/4'' X 1/4'' and take only one hit filling my lungs up completely.. never taking a second hit. I sit back in a dark room in a comfortable chair with a few candles and rest my head as I travel the stars and distant galaxies. Those who are abusers of "hard" street drugs usually dont get much from the flowers , i'm not sure why but possibly the expectations may be too high or they may just not be in tune with this particular allie.
once again, this isn't a plant to be taken lightly. Just because you don't get stoned from smoking some doesn't mean you should double the dose and try again. She's very picky and if she senses some disrespect she'll kick your fucking ass.

i was already stoned and didn't feel any more or less stoned if i really thought about, but perhaps there was some effect but it was slight or just placeabo

I do not however believe one will overdose on just one flower smoked but you should not risk it BE EASY and work your way up, it may also be noted that this flower is avoided completely by many indigenous shamanic societies becauase it is thought to cause insanity moreso than the rest of the plant. I hear smoking the leaves is often more mild and enjoyable. Have never tried it. I'm really not sure if I want to.

yep flowers contain more than leaves. And seed contain even more.
smoking destroys the alkaloids and does nothing beyond placebo. I have made extracts of seed even and took some huge tokes and notta.
SMOKING DATURA = NOTHING
I get a bigger buzz from smoking dream herb

An incense consisting of Datura and kitchen spices was prepared under my supervision and placed under my BBQ'ed chicken breast with my permission. What I experienced was not placebo.
However, when the dry leaf tips of a burdened plant were placed in my pipe some time later, I felt no effect, whatsoever.

When i first made tea with Datura Stramonium (which was irresponsible) i felt more high with the paranoia of what is going to happen with me, than the high of Datura itself. I figured it out that u shouldn't expect immediate effect. A real effect can be unpleasant, but if u want a safe trip, u shouldn't wonder about it, just relax and let your mind flow. The only effect of datura i have experienced is in my dreams. Eating a dosage of seeds resulted in some strange dreams, but nothing more than that, anyway this summer i am thinking of taking a higher dose of seeds ! In all cases i think one must be very cautious, delirium is delirium !
