How long does it take for spores to germinate on agar?

I squirted some spores from a syringe on plate 10 days ago and I have this barely visible thing that I don't think it's mycelium. There's a few tiny specs of spores that don't seem to be doing anything.

The other plate I used is uglier because I accidentally flooded it with the syringe, still no mycelium, I think, maybe some other things

4 days later I inoculated three plates more with another syringe I bought from the internet and are completely clean.
I don't think it's the agar because, the same day I cloned a couple of shrooms and something it's growing. It's probably toxic, but it's growing.

Do I wait for the other plates to see what happens?
I hope that in the second batch of plates it's not the syringe that's faulty because I'm PCing some cake to inoculate them with it. To the naked eye the content of the syringe looks like water,. Are you supposed to see spores clumped together? In the ones I've made from my prints you see plenty.
Thanks in advance.

It all depends on the variety, but I have found it takes about 7-10 days, some can take as long as a couple of weeks, it all depends. The type of agar you use for example PDA or LMEA, and/or the amount of nutes in your agar can be a factor as well.

Thank you! I used BRF, agar and honey in a 3:2:1 proportion by weight.
It's all cubes, McKennaii the first syringe and the clones and Orissa the second syringe.

First plate looks like mold from here, edge of plate colonies are sus but it can happen if the plates flood so who knows could be real whispy cube myc. Maybe take another Pic from above. Second plate super bac, toss. Your clones look great, take transfers.

Do I have to wait for the clone mycelium to grow more before making a transfer? Thanks in advance!

The one on the right is plenty spread to take a transfer imo. The left one can be done if you're careful to take only a small peice of the leading edge.

Why the honey? That's a whole lot of food! And I'm a newbie I guess I don't know everything yet, it will take me another month to know everythingπ€£ Just wondering if that is a recipe from this site, or somewhere else. Not talking shit on you.

It's a YouTube one from Philly golden teacher, 3 parts of starch (potato flakes, or BRF) 2 parts agar and one part sugar (corn syrup, can be substituted for honey). I dont know if it's any good (I'm both a noob and a slow learner) but I happened to have the ingredients.
Now I got LME, which I think it's sort of the standard recommenddation.

Yea to much, hell there is things in honey that pc can't even kill that's why baby's can't eat honey. Maximize nutrition should be 10% but in particular thar only blood agar. For every you want to grow you want about 3% to even down to .5% nutrition contains. Best starting out recipe, 3 grams corn strach since you have it, 20 gram agar pack and 800ml water for firm agar , food coloring helps when starting out. Looks like bacteria bloom on you plates at the moment.
Grain water recipe for agar or lc is simple 1 cup grain, 2 gallon water boil 30 mins, jar up or pc the ratio is the same.

Technical it's supposed to be 20 grama agar ti 1000ml.i like my firm to transfer easier and slurry clean plates. Your spores where they syringe or swaps.

Yeah 10-10-500 is the standard for MEA, but alot of people go as low as 5g LME- 7g agar- 500ml water. You'll find the ratio you like, but there's plenty of diversity in sugars and carbs in malt extract that there's really no need for additional nutrients or sugars.

Syringes. Home made in the oldest plates and bought in the newest ones. I inoculated some BRF cakes withe one I made and they are germinating.

Prolly mold, right?

I probably should know the answer by now but the reason to transfer the mycelium out of clones instead of using it to inoculate grain jars is because thre might still be contamination?
Also what do I do with original clone plate? Throw it away or let it grow more? Thanks for your patience!

Definitely mold. You can hold onto old transfer plates if you want to. I usually hold onto plates until I've seen the fruits from them.
