Help brothers, when is the perfect time to get spores from these pan cyans?? This is what they look like currently. Should I wait longer or is this fine??
I want as dense spores as possible! thank you!

My cyans have all been prolific spore droppers. So as soon as you start to see some dusting on the caps you should be good to go.
Not like subtrops and tamps, those buggers requires some coaxing.

Yeah, now is good. They're already doing the crop dusting thing Rev mentioned.
And I use the same signal

Nah. Just forget about them for a week and the Eye of Sauron can be yours.

How long does bisporus usually take to fruit after casing? My bisporus culture colonized the bulk(straw/verm/hpoo) quickly, about a week or less. I cased with a ph adjusted peat/verm mix about 2 weeks ago. It's in a martha with alternating fog and air. The substrate stays moist but does dry out for a little.
Is the culture bunk or do I need to be patient ?

Yes. 25% manure by volume in coir. 1 quart manure for every 3 quarts coir. Make sure the manure is good. It should be dry and virtually odorless. Break it up by hand and remove any big chunks. Pasteurization should not stink up the house. Horse manure should look like this.

Damn thats what I was worried about. I'm gonna leave it for the time being until i need the space, but I'm pretty sure both my bisporus and ttbvi isolations must of been mold or non producers. Back to the germ plates for me.
I was so damn excited to try those little buggers. Hopefully the next run works out for me.

Just mixing it up prior to pasteurizing made my whole house smell like a horse’s ass…
It’s dehydrated horse manure from shroomsupply.

Remarkable recovery on these ttbvi half quart jars. I just shook these about 18 hours ago.

Nice! Is that bird seed? They do seem to like the mixed grains better than millet alone, ime.
I just shook these about 15 hours ago. Millet and wheat low prep Yoshi Trainer style (except I let the PC run dry ruining it and burning the grain a bit). Three Pan Cyan Brooks, 1 BVI, 2 Cambo Komodo, & 1 pan cyan Kona.

I've had cultures fruit in 9 days, and I've had cultures take 4 weeks. The 9-day cultures were clones of the 4-week ones.
I think it's always fun to start new projects and I don't think that's a bad idea. Temperature and a lot of other factors can really affect how fast they fruit I think.
The 9-day ones were fruited around 78°. More typically I fruit stuff in the mid to low 70s, because it's been winter and I don't want to stress trying to get my whole tent up to 80°. And it takes about 2 weeks for the same cultures at those temperatures.
If it hasn't turned green yet I doubt it's mold. And I bet if you're patient you can get some good clones. So yeah, I wouldn't give up on that grow just yet.

Yea my tent floats around 72-75. It's just in my bedroom and I can't live in those kind of temps, so thr air exchange fights my aquarium heater non-stop.
But that's the post I needed to see. I really would love to get some fruits out of these boxes. I have like 4 ttbvi boxes that haven't done anything yet. Barely colonizing the top layer. Haven't cased yet. I was worried about that one since agar though.
The bisporus looked like a win all the way through, but then cased and its kinda just looked the same for about 5 days or more now. I can see the mycelium climbing up a little through the casing. IL practice patience and hopefully they reward me for it.

Lol. Where I live setting the AC thermostat below 78 is like setting money on fire. But "its a dry heat".
So far I have not gotten bisporus to fruit. Several tubs colonized, cased, then sit with no signs of contam forever. I need to start over from spores, but it will have to wait. Thanks to the generosity of this community I need to get some of these other cultures locked down in stasis before starting another back up.
