I like 160 better, but I would be happy with both.

Exactly. But with stone producers, I really would not be worried. They get spots and still grow nicely. Could be sclerotia presenting or just tamps being tamps. The rest and especially the leading edge looks great. So unless you saw the myc overtake some bacteria in that spot, I would send both after grabbing a back up transfer.

Ok thanks for the advice! Excited to try my hand at this. I have to figure out the rough overall plan yet, but generally speaking I always take a backup transfer when I do a A2G inoculation

Thanks for the kind words. I'm getting a second flush. I didn't get a chance to take a clone from the first flush. I might try cloning one of the stones from the top of the substrate that's producing a lot of good size fruits. Was wondering if anyone has done this before what are the chances that cloning a stone that's producing fruits will result in more fruit producing stones vs just lots of stones that don't produce fruits?

What I usually do is I clone the stones from the casing that are making fruit.
I have a couple of cultures that are those types of stones, one I fruited and it did really well. The other one's still in a jar but it's made lots of stones and I plan to fruit it soon.
I also took fruit clones from the same stones, and at least on media the stones run a faster. In jars or on plates. I think I only fruirsd the one side by side and I ended up keeping the stone culture and letting go of the fruit one.

Thanks tree frog. I'm going to try it by digging one of the stones after this flush. Might just fully harvest the stones after this flush too because I don't know if it's worth keeping for a third as far as yields.

Had these Tamps resting since about half a year now. Its my first attempt at stones. Do they look clean to you? Im planning to spawn them soon to Coir with Verm (1:1)
Any tipps or suggestions before i go ahead? Always appreciate any feedback

They look right for about 6 months. At that age you will usually get puddling in the bottom if you have a bacterial issue.
If you can get the right filed capacity without the verm, I would skip it. Just makes cleaning stones more tedious in the end. But use some sand in the casing when you get to that point.

Thanks for that very helpful information
Is it realistic to get them ready for harvest within a month before i leave for holidays?

Might be tricky timing. I think 3 to 4 weeks to pin and another week to harvest is pretty typical.
Does anyone else have a different time line? I know subtrops can have a wide range, but my tamps have been pretty consistent in that time line, but I have only run one genetic line of tamps (Pollock-Ambrose).

Mine take almost exactly 10 days after going to bulk of coir Another five to harvest

Ya, looking back at some older logs, my very fastest was 14 days to pin and 19 to harvest. But 3 weeks to pin and another week to harvest is most common for me.
Are you in a tub or tent? All my times are tubs.

Yeah tamps have been fast for me, I had one pin 9 days after spawn before.
Always nice when you go to case and see pins

I use a tent. I have tried tubs, but they just don’t produce very well.

Thanks again for all the help!
After some research (Stonesuns TEKs, Violets easy Truffel TEK, ...) im still a little insecure about some of the steps.
- For the bulk substrate i will use only coir brought to field capacity. Must the coir be pasteurized?
- When speaking of 50/50 casing layer, it is peat moss & verm. Should i use only peat moss with sand for stones or is the verm ok/helpful in the casing layer?
- When to case? I assume as soon as the bulk sub is close to being completely consolidated?
Looking forward to sharing my results with you soon
