How Do I Know What Good Surface Conditions Are w Aerial Myc?

So, I have a tub that is completely aerial myc. It's Penis Envy, prepared with CVG and the thick P9 compression layer. It's almost finished colonizing through the thick top layer. Should I already give it FAE or wait? Will water bead on the surface of aerial myc? Will it eventually flatten? Anyone with experience on a tub like this please chime in. Thanks!

Looks fine. Common convention is spawning straight to fruiting conditions, giving it proper fae from the beginning. Is this just an unmodified mono? Don't be afraid to open the lid to snap a Pic.

Yeah, the lid is pretty heavy with condensation and I'm sure it'll drip all over and I'll have to clean it, that's why that pic. I have never dealt with aerial myc so I just wanted to know if it'll flatten or stay whispy and if you'll still see dew on it. I was hesitant to send to fruiting at spawn because the room is bone dry, but it's pretty colonized now.

The lid will drip eventually even if undisturbed, shake it off. I wouldn't read too much into the expression of your myc it looks fine don't overthink it.

I agree. You need to periodically check the lid to make sure theres not droplets of water forming on the inside of it. If there is, remove the lid, shake it off, dry with a towel, replace the lid, and go back to leaving it alone. The myc looks good and will be fine assuming you got field capacity right.
Not sure where people get their info nowadays because Im always seeing this question about when to give fae. I see it asked literally every day despite general consensus and all current info saying to give passive fae from day 1 of spawning. Not being a dick Im genuinely confused

Or inoculating everything straight from MSS.

Aerial myce = happy myce.
Aerial mycelium is caused by a very good balance of substrate moisture content and humidity inside of the tote during spawn run. When these two are in equilibrium, the mycelium is able to leap off of the substrate and reach out into the air.

Thanks! I got 3 tubs that look exactly like this. Reassuring to hear it's good, as I've never experienced this before myself. As for everyone else's comments, I know about going straight to fruiting but I did a thick compression layer and I'm running an unmodified tub, so I thought it'd dry out. I really didn't want to have to mist before full colonization on top.

If the aerial myc conditions are good and I'm running unmodified 66 purple latches, what would you recommend for introducing FAE? When and how much?

I would just leave it alone. The mycelium will be triggered to fruit on it it’s own once it decides the substrate is fully colonized.
This will be evidenced by fruit body formation beginning to appear in the form of knotting/primordia then into pinheads, etc.
As far as when to exchange the CO2 build for fresh air, I would not mess with anything unless signs of CO2 build up become prevalent such as fuzzy feet or necrosis (the caps turning black).

Thanks again. The lid fits pretty loose and you can see evaporation on the 4 corners of the lid. Plus, the myc is happy, so I think it's ok for now.
A lot of people get amazing pinsets by misting and evaporating repeatedly. You wouldn't recommend this? Just let it do it's thing as is?
