Orissa India plus burritos and vomit help

Hi everyone, so I’m on the following day of a bad experience and came here to ask some advice. I have been shrooming every weekend for a few months now and my typical dose is 3.5-4 grams and then I usually munch a few small ones later in the evening. My typical routine is not to eat on that day and then around 430 or so I dose and then make myself a meal and eat shortly after the dose so I don’t get too hungry while tripping. This has worked quite well. So yesterday I followed this same routine and tried a new species for the first time and took 4 grams of orissa India. I then made lamb burritos which I have never made before and had a couple burritos. I was having a good time. I decided to try the re dose method before tolerance sets in and munched another gram at 6 pm. I was still having quite a good time. Somewhere around a half hour later I got this feeling almost like I had to vomit which rarely happens unless I was drinking which I haven’t been. As soon as I felt this sensation I thought I can hold this back but immediately and with no delay I literally vomited and had no control over delaying it. And sadly I didn’t even make it to any type of receptacle. At this point I was set off into a very bad trip. I tried cleaning and was tripping too hard to effectively clean and I got in the shower and kept alternating hot and cold depending on how I was feeling to try to level myself out. I then dry heaved randomly over the next hour about 3 times and got back in the shower between those times. When I finally felt I was done being sick I was so low on energy and couldn’t clean so I had to lay down. At that point I tried to just forget about the mess and relax myself through what was now a bad trip because I’m not sure if I even really felt that bad besides puking and if doing so just got to my head and made me go into that negative place or if I was actually that sick overall. Well I got up today and cleaned up and I am now thinking over the situation, because even when I was experiencing this I couldn’t decide if the lamb burritos caused the problem or if the mushrooms caused the problem, like I’m really not sure what the actual issue was or if I shouldn’t have eaten so much right after the dose. I’m trying to decide if this is my sign to possibly stop using mushrooms or if I’m overthinking it and had some bad lamb and had nothing to do with the mushrooms. And I am here to ask if anyone has any experience where they can shed light on what they think the root of this problem was. I appreciate any thoughts on this, as I don’t speak about this with anyone in person. Thanks

I’m surprised you can eat a full meal while tripping. You might try just small simple foods like nuts, fruit, chocolate, fresh juice etc., and save your bigger meal until after. A good meal in the early afterglow can be quite blissful.

That is a good point, I probably shouldn’t have gone with such a big meal and maybe just have a decent lunch more than a few hours prior and light snacking if needed after, it was just so random. I don’t think I’ve ever had nausea or thrown up from shrooms.

I’m a big fan of a short fast before shrooms usually and commonly 4-6 hrs but I’ve done as much as 24hrs.
It’s also common and perhaps just the way it goes that shrooms & other psychedelics change the more you use them and as we age. Terrence McKenna talked about it and I’ve definitely noticed it to be true for myself. The quotation I’m thinking of is something to the effect of mushrooms are so gentle to the uninitiated and so relentless to the returned user.
Another though is the ayahuasca perception of the purge. Throwing up is considered a blessing and the act of “getting well” this can be a physical or spiritual purification.

I will have to work on my diet planning some more. I like that quote and it makes sense to, because my first time as a teenager was 1 single mushroom about a gram and it was a very pleasant time. The purge idea is something I am trying to keep in mind and if I had made it to a toilet I would be more accepting, but to see the mess and the visual of it all moving around and how I was so unable to clean up and looked at myself in the mirror and just looked awful and then all I could do was just lay there and sleep it off. It was just a very unsettling time and it’s hard for me to bridge the line between making this a learning experience vs seeing how messed up I was. And I have been using this to overcome depression/ anxiety and up until this trip I really felt it was working well and I was feeling better than I have in over a decade as I was enjoying this as a fun way to keep things natural and have a good time on the weekend all in one.

Be good to yourself rough trips happen. Give it some time, eat healthy, get exercise and sleep.

Using them as healing tool great it might take you more than a week between trips to take in the healing energy and lessons ie “integration”. Books, breath work and meditation are other tools that can help in combination with the trips. I can recommend a few books if you’re interested I do audio books because I’ve never been able to read very well.

I will have to think my routine out some more, instead of 4 grams a week maybe a simple 2 gram experience would make more sense after the past few months. Or maybe just spacing out more weeks altogether. I would look into those books you are talking about as well. Another thing is I’ve had lower back soreness the past couple of days since this and I’m trying to just assume it’s how I laid down and fell asleep but it’s been a constant reminder of this situation. I also had a headache and was achey the whole day after which I’m hoping was a dehydration thing. But I’m definitely starting to feel better overall now.
