LC into substrate.

I am considering using a mondo sealed sterilzed plastic substrate box to inoculate with LC. Will this work? What are the chances of contam? If the box is sealed until fruiting it should be relatively low correct? Also has anyone ordered from mondo mycologicals before? Sorry if any of this sounds dumb but i am new to this. Thanks

thats not the way to do it. you have to take lc to grain spawn or agar then grain spawn first. if youre looking for something you dont need an sab or flow hood for buy grains and substrate and an impulse sealer and make your own AIO bags.
ive never heard of that company but its against the rules to put vendor names. if you look at my pics and see something you like pm me and ill tell you where i got the genetics.

use the search function or look at my journal if you want to see the process of making grain spawn from scratch.
im using corn but corn isnt an optimal grain to use. rye or birdseed or oates are far superior and the process is slightly different for each. soak/boil times ect can vary with the grain you use.

Corn is the way, especially if your poor, wheat is great too. Now if you make a bag of sterilization in which substance to knock up with lc. Look up pastywhites straw bottle tek, but use in bags instead. The advantage is Any nutrients is fine, down side is time it takes to colonize and fruit. But yes you can run things with cracked corn, straw, spy pellets, coffee, dog food, cat food, ground up chicken bones with little bits cooked meat on it after ninja blender it. Chicken spawn. Anything is possible is sterilization and clean culture.

Corn is very accessible and cheap. I use popcorn quite frequently.
Just got a 10lb bag of rye today though

That vendor requires you to be logged into see the details of the products or prices - that alone tells me all I need to know about them - FUCK THAT VENDOR.
You can't inoculate substrate with LC - the colonized grains are the food source and the substrate only maintains moisture levels for the grain.

Also don't skip over agar. If you're trying to shoot spores into grain there's a good chance ittl contam on you wasting time and money (and also breaking your heart)

OP, you talkin bout doin what now?
Also…not to be THAT guy…but I totally will.
you don’t HAVE to go spore>agar>grain>sub. If you’re looking to expedite growing some mushrooms just to dip your toe in…you could get an LC syringe (but they can be dirty too and should really be tested on agar) or a pre-colonized plate (less likely to have contam) then buy pre-sterilized grain or make your own then take it to an easy substrate like straight coir in an unmodified tub like a 6qt shoebox.
I don’t like AIO bags though, that’s where I draw the line.

OP, I agree that you should read the hitchhikers guide and get a feel for what path you wanna go down to start.
But if down the line youre sitting on some clean LC and you’re still wanting to skip on the spawning step for whatever reason check these out. I don’t recommend this for your first grows or anything but they are cool and functional.

Better known as the "try to shove everything you've got left over that you don't use anymore" tek in my book. Bottle tek is sick and works pretty much like a PF tek that you have to PC depending on what you put in it. You can match a monotub in yield for the space used if you do it right. Not an excuse to skip testing your liquid cultures on agar beforehand like mentioned before unless you want to roll a dice

I can feel you, you have little patience especially if it is your first growth. But to have fast results follow the path that other posters described. Anything else will result in more time lost.
