T1 from the sectors you guys directed me to grab from. Should I go T2 or do a lil Josex poke for an LC?

I also didn't realize I was allowed to give a shout out to print providers. A big thank you to AspectOfTheCreator for gifting a super clean print after I had so much bad luck with bad vendors.

What recipe are you all using for LC?
I've been using LME and have been having a hard time getting the Bisporus to take off in it.
I was thinking they might like broth made from boiling brown rice.

Monotubs are a great fruiting environment for shoebox size totes. Easy to dial in depending on needs. And are also a great environment for EF cakes.
Martha’s are great if you are able to figure out air exchange. I’m having fun with mine currently and finding that schedule and timing of exhaust and humidification is an easy balance. It’s evaporation that needs to be dialed for proper surface conditions. Light helps with this. Full spectrum 6400k.

I'm running a tent and I'm having some success but am still working on dialing it in, I find that my trays are drying out a bit to much. If exhaust and humidification timing are an easy balance, wouldn't that be the things contributing most to evaporation? Are you experiencing to dry or to wet if either?

I hardly boil grains and heard recently soak water isn't good because of lactic acid (though I could balance the ph if it's just the ph). I guess making rye broth is as easy as rice broth though.
Also I'll check the link, thanks @blueberry muffin!

I was thinking of trying grain water LC because they liked the grain water agar so much. I wonder if switching up a diet for mushrooms is like switching up a diet for people? Bound to get the liquid shits... or no shits at all.
Maybe I'll try grain water, LME, and SSLC versions of both to do a side-by-side and report back.

Re: grain water LC, I’m a fan and it’s all I use. Same for agar.

7 out of 8 Mystery SA fruits aborted, but one made it to maturity and gave me a print. Might just be a skill issue but man is this thing slow. Spawned 3/19, cased & fruited 3/26, then it sat there until 4/12 when I let it dry then flooded it. First pin 4/17, the one posted above has been growing since 4/19. Hoping with this print we’re on the way to finding some genes that like me

MIB, spawned with a thick top layer then allowed to pin on the shelf. Then fruited uncased in the Martha. Went with 1/3 of the ferts I used for the tray in my sig. Same clone so I find the size difference quite interesting.

Nice job! Yours look very bisporus like. They are exceptionally slow in my limited experience. But man the experience they give is phenomenal. I have trouble with abortions as well, seemingly more prone. I’ve been keeping them on the drier side which seems to help somewhat.

Got excited when I saw them colonized in 2 weeks so I forgot to dunk the cakes and just rolled them in a thick verm layer, about 1 - 1.5 cm. Placed in a 14 lt watertub with the lid flipped. 2 cakes got pins all of a sudden, I guess they were hiding under the mycelium.

Things are moving quickly here. The top left cake barely has 3 pins on it but the others look good, so I inoculated a rye jar with the same SSLC 4 days ago. So far I can only see a small spot of mycelium in the grain jar, but at least I know that PF tek will work until I figure out grain spawn.

Thank you Kirk! The resemblance to bispo is pretty nifty. Good to know they're slow for others as well. And bet that's a great tip, I'll keep them drier next time As always, I appreciate your feedback. Quite excited to see what the experience is like, is there another mushroom you'd compare them to? There are a few stragglers coming in, so I might be able to get a trip out of this tray.

Do you do 1:4 GW to H20 for your GWLC?
In regard to the liquid ferts - did they increase or decrease in size with less fert usage?
I get this feeling that the hungrier you make them, the more desirable the outcome. Whether on agar, in LC, or in subs. Is fruiting a response to the mycelium essentially getting the munchies, realizing there's not enough locally, and attempting to throw spore to wind to find more food?

Wicked strong and to me almost like a combo of Bisporus and semps. Taking the kinda loving caring from semps and grounded depends if bisporus.

@ thelongcomma I do it 1:8 for LC and use it undiluted for agar. This round with less nutes came out smaller. Last round I went heavy and all of the cyans came out larger, cambos smaller. They were cased so that could have something to do with it as well.
@kirk That sounds amazing. Even more excited to try some now haha
