DIY grow bags 1

Heyoo, so I’ve finally found the time to sit down set up and grow some shrooms, I’ve grown some reishi and I’m wondering if my setup would work the same. The plan is : 1. Colonize 1 qt millet jars 2. Let them mfers do their thing 3. Once fully colonized break each jar into three Pegasus bags with a substrate 4. Impulse seal the bags and have them sit in my Martha tent 5. Once the bags are fully colonized cut them open dunk for 24 hrs and put back In the Martha but with less humidity and more FAE and hope they fruit.
Questions are: What sub should I use ? I have no idea what subs are good for psilocybin.
Would a 1:2 grain to sub ratio be good for the bags?
What should I keep the CO2 and humidity at while colonizing and fruiting?
Should I verm roll after I dunk?
Thanks for reading and answering if you do, I’ll be sure to keep up a grow log once I do start and I’ll also send any more info if y’all need it. THANKS!

1. Straight coir or coir and vermiculite 2. You can add more substrate than that if the spawn looks clean. If bacterial 1:1 or 1:2 is better 3. I would worry less about the co2 and rh reading and focus more on the surface conditions of your sub. You want passive FAE and pretty high humidity for cubes, if you’re growing pans that’s another story. 4. If you’re spawning to coir I wouldn’t dunk or roll in verm. If you’re set on using the Martha I would cut the top of the bag off and put a rubber band around the side to try and limit side pinning and not run the exhaust fan at all.
If you’re growing cubes and want to cut the Martha out of the equation you can just spawn to 1-2 gallon ziplocks and poke a couple holes in the bag. EZ PZ

Fosho thanks m8, In the two years of been of this site have people ruled out gypsum in the coir and vermiculite

hey whatsup man i had another question, you said that i should be more concerned about surface conditions rather than CO2 and rH, how would i manage surface conditions in the bags since they are sealed. or is it as simple as just raising the humidity

If you spawn to correctly hydrated coir you shouldn’t have to worry about things until the bag is fully colonized. At that point whether you’re cutting the bag open and trying to fruit in the Martha or just poking some holes and fruiting in the bag it’s all about dialing in the amount of FAE to keep those surface conditions stable. If it’s too wet and water is pooling you need to increase FAE and if things are drying out you need to decrease it. You shouldn’t need to be fanning or misting if you get that dialed in. Just make small adjustments because sometimes it takes a while to see the results of your modifications.
Check these threads out if you haven’t yet. Using Ziplocs (Ziplocks) as Fruiting Chambers (FC) Proper Surface Moisture / When to Increase FAE

that makes allot of sense, i live in a drier area so i think poking holes would be most efficient. however if i do make to many holes, covering them in micropore would help reduce it right?

Yep micropore would reduce it and if you want to close it up completely than a solid tape.

cool cool, and if i remeber correctly, when its fully colonized its not as prone to contam so i dont have to worry about the tape being dirty n what not right>
