PF Tek water tubs mixed results

My first attempt at PF Tek in water tubs has mixed results and I would like your opinions as to why this is. The first pic is Stargazer after 14 days and it is doing very well indeed! I am chuffed as it’s my first ever successful grow! This cake was fully colonised then submerged in water for 24 hours then rolled in dry vermiculite and placed onto a jar in a water tub with an inch of water, I used a jar as I don’t have a cooling rack. Also worth noting this tub measures H 12.5” (32cm) x W 9.5” (24.5cm) x D 13” (33cm). Also it sits at window sill height by my large kitchen window and has not been sprayed/misted or opened and has not had any lights of any kind just natures sunlight.
Second pic is exactly the same as above but the strain is Tidal Wave and the water tub is a lot larger measuring H 12.5” (32cm) x W 14” (36cm) x D 24” (61cm). The date and method was exactly the same.
Can someone please explain what is going on here and have I been wasting my time with the the larger tub with more cakes or does it need more time to fruit?

Cakes look kinda dry in there. I’d try a light mist.
What kind of temps you running in the house?

The big tub is running drier than the small one. Mist the cakes and close up the FAE on that tub a bit more.

I’d have another 9 cakes in that big tub. The evaporation from cakes being close together produces a nice climate for fruiting. Do you have pictures of the cakes before you took them out of the jars?

Yeah it’s very dry on the surface of the cakes.
You might want to drop an airstone or two into the water.

Sadly I don’t have any pics before I took them out of the jars but I will next time for sure. I could have inoculated another 9 jars but at the time I did not have another 9, I am collecting more each week so I can do larger batches. It’s keeping organised with it as well as I am still new and don’t want too much going on at once. I have another 18 inoculated now so just have to wait a few weeks/months.

I have got a fine spray mister which I am using now, so I will see how that goes. I do have airstones and pumps here and I will keep that in mind for future grows.
