LSD always keeps me up much past the end of the effects. Shrooms usually don't though; my mind is usually so exhausted I fall asleep pretty easy. Smoking after either just seems to bring a little bit of the trippy feelin back; definitely not condusive to slumber

hmm yeah, it happens to me too, i always have a hard time sleeping after a shroom trip ... but maybe that's just because i always trip at night, i really feel like tripping at daytime my next trip, if i get the chance for it .. a hot bath sounds like a great tip though, something i'll definitely try out the next time i have trouble sleeping after a trip :)

Thanks for the input guys, glad to know I'm not the only one suffering post-trip sleep disorder on saturdays.

again?
vitamin B3 is known as niacin (also: nicotinic acid); when niacin is taken on an empty stomach, a "flushing: reaction occurs, due to marked dilation of skin capillaries, making you feel hot & itchy & look all red & stuff... it won't hurt you, & might even be good for your circulatory system, but it can be disconcerting as hell when you are tripping ---
a derivative called niacinAMIDE doesn't have as much vaosdilation as niacin, but both may help stop a trip...
both are OTC & you can find them at healthfood stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, etc...
about the trip info... it may not work for everyone, but those whom it does help swear by it... some doctors (led by abram hoffer, one of the docs who turned aldous huxley on to mesc in the 50s; also helped develop lsd therapy for alcoholics) have a field of study called orthomolecular psychiatry(incorporating an older tech called megavitamin therapy, including linus pauling & richard passwater, among others...) and they suggest that some people may be missing some gene or other that allows them to properly metabolize certain vitasins all the way to the final body system/enzyme pathway/active metabolite/whatever and thus get diseases somewhat resembling vitamin deficiency diseases...
~~~
if you attempt even a cursory "search function" using "niacinamide" as keyword, no doubt a few other posts with references, etc would have turned up, cuz this has been discussed before...
besides trying to "turn off" the trip (with tranks, downers, booze, bud, or even vitamins...)
there is always the option of using atresidual psychedelic energy for mind/body/spirit work ---
meditation
martial arts
massage
reading
enjoying art
hot tub soak
sauna sweat
tantrik sex/maithuna
making art
journaling/writing
exploring silence
exploring mantra
ritual grounding techs
tune yr guitar to DADDAD & see what happens
watch the sunrise
do tai chi or sufi dancing
sing
breathe
