Another nice harvest pic. No milk dunking, just straight DB compost here ....he he he ...
These are from one flush from a 10lb kit of DB compost of a real nice Gulf Coast strain we decided to continue working with. I'll post a whole series of pictures from these tomorrow in a different thread.
One flush and there is enough mushrooms here to feed all the ducks down at the pond :)

Ryche,

I really like the blue background you choose for your images. Brings out the proper color and texture of the shrooms!

Great work ;)

Those weighed in at 2 1/4 oz dry. Also notice we clean 95% of the soil, compost etc off the stems before we weigh them so they get a true mushroom weight.

Thanks Gadget.... I like your image by your name... the time lapse is to cool.
I remember seeing that on a website somewhere... where did you find that ?

Here is another one.. these are B+ from one flush on 10lbs db compost in kit.
these weighed in at 472G's wet.

Have a great weekend everybody.

hey ryche hows everything been goin. by the looks of all these pics seems that you have been really blessed lately. its good to see ;)

thanks for the advice on the pans. can i still use the same grow chamber that comes with the kit, and will that still eliminate fanning, and misting. dont really mind doing all that, but wouldnt do it if i dont have to if you know what i mean ;). oh, one more thing, when cased, should the pan trops have a layer of moist verm on the bottom?

thanks again

Gadget posted that time lapse micoporn. Click here to see the original thread

and I am the one who told him he had to use it for his picture hehe. I really like the high quality download where you get to see the whole thing in that thread. Gadget you kick ass.

Ryche,

Those are your GRAND CHILDREN! (well maybe great-great-great grand children)

Some time ago FOAF got some syringes from you, and your lineage continues to cause great pleasure in many ;) 2 spore syringes really can go a long way when you make your own prints and re-use the syringes!

FOAF is a 100% Shroomery trained Shroomerite, so to all the newbies out thier, read the archives, and learn the skills! :)

Whereabouts.. it should still work in the container fine, just reduce the depth of substrate. -Clyde- did an experiment lately with pans. Doing all things equal as with the cubs in these kits, 4 weeks later, great colonization, but no fruits. Even with adjusting the temps. It is definatly to deep of a substrate layer for pans, because we've both seen the pans fruit on this compost very easily in the past. So he is going to dig out several inches of the colonized compost instead of starting over and see if they will fruit now.

In the past when I grew pan trops on the DB compost, I just mixed about 2 softball sizes of the compost with 1 pint of colonized birdseed, cased with 50/50+ mix immediatly, 2 weeks later they fruited with no problem. Pans colonize this compost very fast,, but they do prefer a shallow substrate layer.

Love the time lapse Gadget.... very creative ;)

Ok.. let me reach into my magic box for some more harvest pics.
These are B+ again... not so pretty... a little over mature, but still good enough for my stomach :o
these came from a 2nd flush on 10lbs of DB compost.

Theres maybe a 1 in 100 chance that you might get a shroom that big from regular PF cased tek. PF cakes that are cased are know for small to medium sized shrooms.

Rice.. absolutly not. We've seen some big ones come from finch seed but not rice.
BTW, there is no straw in this compost once again :)

nice. its good to hear that it will still work pretty good if in seperate casings with a thinner substrate layer. thats no prob at all. minor adjustments ;).

thanks for the advice again, and once again they are some bangin shroomies. have fun with those ;). i cant wait til i get my hands on some of these pan trops...

Yes, straw has the ability to give some nice flushes. It also contaminates very easily in our experience.
We have also seen the results of this compost made when the ingrediants that came from a dairy using straw for the cow bedding instead of wood shavings.

Not only does the texture completly change, so does the nutritional make up of the compost among a few other things. We also noticed the compost with the straw in it contaminated easier then the compost with the wood shavings in it. Our crops from the straw based compost were not near as astounding as with the current DB compost.

I personally do not recommend straw by itself. Myself and -Clyde- never had much success with it to brag about. I know some people out there use it well, but from what I have seen most do not. And come to think of it, i've never seen any pics of exceptional flushes from straw, at least not any monster sized mushrooms.

On another note, DB, -Clyde- and I decided to share the recipe of the DB compost sometime hear in the near future, but only if all the negative and childish attacks on T.H.E. stop. Which lately they have.
Then everyone can see just how much work goes into making compost and what makes this compost so good. People can have the option to make it themselves if they want and put in all the time, work and money.

Thats cool. Somehow i was thinking people in general in this community wanted as many souls as possible to get into this cultivation and now I see this inching closer all the time. Thanks to all the researchers hanging around here and sharing what they are able ,things are looking up.
