Significance/effect of lids on an EZdial tub?
    #28745337 - 04/22/24 09:44 AM (2 months, 4 days ago)

My question, as I continue to probably overthink my tub design, is what the conventional wisdom is currently on lids for EZdial tubs. I've looked a bit and haven't found too many specifics. I've attached a picture of the type of lids I currently have.

What notice about these, is that the little plastic tabs running along the perimeter effectively raise up the lid and create airflow in between that could go "up and over". This would be in contrast to the lids that are not entirely airtight but sit flush along the perimeter.

My question is, has anybody dug into this and whether one might compensate by forgoing the top holes? If the result of this is excessive FAE, what signs would I look for? Thanks for any thoughts or insights.

These are Hefty brand tubs right? I use the same ones, EZdial style. In my setup (monotub in closet, no fan in the room, central AC, etc) I still need to add the holes. You will need to dial in your tubs based on your particular room conditions.

What does excessive FAE look like? No condensation on the inside of your monotubs, drying and slight bruising of the substrate can happen as well.
