Some thoughts.

Give me your thoughts on this.
The psychedelic world is like a destination. Drugs are like different forms of transportation.
You can take a bus, you can fly in a plane, or you can walk. But eventually, you will get to the same destination.

Then what is the destination?

The destination is whenever you get to the point of "tripping." I actually see Salvia bringing you to the psychedelic world, instead of the psychedelic world bringing itself to you.

there's also some drugs that keep you from that destination, like alcohol...

interesting thoughts!!!
i like to think that the destinations are really just key parts to the actual path taken. the journey is what matters most!
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

From where I sit, the way I see things, in my opinion, my point of view is...
Do you mean the destination is a change in perspective?

The "psychedelic world" is merely a product of each individual persons mind. It is not an end within itself or a destination, but a means to an end or destination in life.

Zakkly. When I get a high fever (disrupt normal brain functioning), where is my destination? Where do I go?

A disruption in brain function could lead to many destinations...how about the nut house?

I am speaking about whenever you chose to take a drug that induces a visionary state.

"I am speaking about whenever you chose to take a drug that induces a visionary state." There is no difference. It is merely an alteration of conciousness. What you do about it, however, is up to the individual.

in a garden a friend and I smoked salvia last summer. his wife (who only observed) explained that she had a contact high.
He was saying that it did something strange with time (and he was absolutely right) I was saying that it did some thing with the thickness of reality, that the space was more dense ( & I was right too)
She seeemed to get it.
Where did we go? I think we went into the now but more so, and we took eachother and zoomed a bit to keep up and to revel in the extra, more, and, as quickly as that, it faded away - quite a memorable few minutes.
Some brain function might have been disrupted, some other function might have been enhanced. The fluid of consciousness found plenty of room to play in and it was rich, different and good.

Any change in perspective creates a new experience, sometimes an inspiration. Bring 'em on via shrooms, alcohol, or a trip to a far eastern land...there's always something to be gained when you change your point of view.
