Bzzzt! Wrong.
Patriot from the latin pater (father), means to be loyal to one's fatherland or country, which at the time was England.

Slightly anarchist in the sense that they wanted to abolish the current government. Most of them were minarchist in practice though, desiring a government that would be so small that it could only carry out its legitimate functions.

I've always wondered, and I'm not refering to this thread when I ask this, but why do people always refer to the "Founding Fathers" as if they were one entity? Mainly when people use the arguement "THE FOUNDING FATHERS WERE _____, SO IT MUST BE GOOD" it's just a cheap debating trick with the idea of glorfying the acceptance of one side. Surely they were divided in their thoughts on what this country should be, each one having their own voice and ideas.
What a strange concept, tolerance of different ideas!

Golly. Could it be because they wrote the Constitution? Selected our form of government? Sent us down a glorious path?
Besides happy, father'S is plural.

Uh, my point is that people refer to them as if they had one point of view, and one opinion on everything. Certainly they agreed to one form of government, but they also were very divided on many issues. The whole reason for the ?representative? form of government rather than a totalitarian form of government.
And fathers IS plural. Why you added an apostrophe to it to indicate singular possessive is beyond me.

Understandable.

An assumption in itself, no? I'll give you an example to illustriate what I mean, and just how some people use the "Founding Fathers" arguement to justify their position: I watch Pat Robertson's 700 Club, mainly for laughs, but also to understand an extremist point of view and where they're coming from. One of the constant points they try to make is that America is founded on a Godly sovrienty. They reiterate the idea that "The founding fathers were Christians and believed in basing America's values on God". Clearly that is use which does not take into consideration the differences in opinion on seperation of Church and State and other such issues. It uses the term fouding fathers only to try and justify their point, and in such a way that it carries the conotation that they all believed the same exact thing, so therefore we must follow it.

They can't be anarchists since they created a government, that's like calling someone a Christian because they built a temple to Satan.
They can't be terrorists because they were soldiers killing other soldiers, which is what is called a "soldier", not a "terrorist".

They can't be terrorists because they were soldiers killing other soldiers... Never heard of the Boston Tea Party? Just because no one was killed does not mean it wasn't an act of terrorism. It was destruction against a non-military target in a time of peace. Since that time a US postage stamp has been issued "honoring" this act of terrorism (but it is ALL in the eye of the beholder, is it not?) Many of the Revolutionaries were NOT wearing uniforms, which is one of the excuses for holding prisoners at Gitmo as terrorists rather than as P.O.W.s.

I'm not sure "destruction against a non-military target in a time of peace" constitutes terrorism...correct me if I'm wrong but isn't terrorism supposed to induce terror? I'm sure the king wasn't in terror because some tea got trashed...
In fact when i was a youth i unfortunately took part in some "destruction against a non-military target in a time of peace"....i wouldn't call it terrorism, id call it vandalism.

Your "unsureness" tells us only of you and nothing about terrorism. This act meets the textbook definition.
I will play your game anyway. What if the commerical planes were empty of innocent passengers and crew and the Twin Tower occupants had forewarning and time to evacuate so that the ONLY deaths were the suicide bombers themselves. How then would you classify the act?
