I have prepared some Agar jars. I was just curious what temperature to incubate them at? The same as mycelium jars when germinating spores?

Thanks

camao

One more question guys. Right now I have sealed lids on my agar. Should I have a filter disk setup to allow air exchange?

Thanks again

camao

Some say you should have air exchange on petri dishes (or jars in your case), but I do not go to any special length to provide it on my cultures. I seal my petri dishes with electrical tape and they grow out fine. Some of them I can smell the mycelium (especially the sweet smell from the white elm) so I figure that they are not 100% sealed.

Personally I don't think it would hurt unless excess moisture was lost, either drying out the mycelium or the agar. Both would be bad news...

Edit: P.S. - Not everyone here is a guy...
