to case or not to case

As a noobie, just wondering if i should stick to the pf tek method or if i should give the crumble and case method a try. Also, is there a better but still pretty easy way to make cakes with something other than brf such as bird seed etc.

try some cakes and try a case or two...shouldn't be too hard to case and get away with a nice harvest imo.

Rye, WBS and the like are used mainly for casing and dont form cakes. Look around for Magashs Rye Tek. It's simple and requires casing but a good move once you can do cakes.

WBS does not have enough water to fruit well (if at all). You should definetly case it. I personally did not have very good results casing WBS, if you do be generous on the casing layer and a bottom moist layer may help as well. You can also mix in moist verm with it when you make the casing, but don't go overboard...

I also agree and fruit a few cakes, and try a casing or two. Use a few cakes in one casing and you should be happy. Try to keep each cake separate, as in break them up in their own side. Don't just mix them all together...
