Mine produce too many spores I do mist the fruits directly, so they stay pretty wet all through fruiting.

Anyone still use straw based substrate for pan cyan or is coir the way to go?

I've been using both. Leaning towards preferring straw atm. But it could just be what my genetics like.

Maybe try germinating some on cakes, like in Rev. Myc's thread here?

Yea... So much for being the most hearty living material on earth and being able to survive the vacuum of space to seed the planets

No grain at all? Maybe try stipes substrate recipe if going straight to bulk. It uses brf instead of grains.

Waylit's uses BRF too. I've had great luck with the recipe in the past, I don't think substrate is the issue.

This looks more like too high humidity than bacteria or some other contam to me. In winter often you do get high enough rH but not enough surface evap, wich allows water to pool on top of the casing/pins/fruits resulting in stunted growth and fruits spoiling fast. Especially if your raising humidity with an aquariumheater theres no 'dry' space for your casing to evaporate water to, my two cents are raising T and increasing your fae to evap more and faster if possible
Best of luck

Yeah I tried the pucks. I did pucks, grain, and agar for both spores and LC from two different sources.
Can anyone PM me a good, verified source for P.Cyan spores/LC?

If you’ve had good results doing the same thing before, it’s prob just the genetics you got tjis time.
For example I ran this tub along side some others that all grew canopies

Just shitty pinset with weird little mushrooms. Pans can be very finicky sometimes also.

Sorry for my ignorance, I've read a ton about Pan Cyans but I know nothing about shitty genetics. Is it random?
This is the first time I grew from agar btw. MSS in the past worked but trich was too frequent. I didn't isolate a strain though, I just did one transfer, then took the four dishes I liked best and inoculated four tubs with them. All separate. The other two produced nothing.
If the parents produced (sort of. Bad but much better than this) why are the kids spoiled?
Would it be dumb to start a new generation from prints I took from these misshapen mushrooms? I can start over, I guess

Putting it out there - if anyone has extra P.Cyan prints to help a desperate dude out, I'll dedicate my first P.Cyan grow log to you
Just don't have the heart to shell out more $ to vendors.

The next flush comes out with darker caps and stems. This greenish color is simply incomparable! I just pipetted this color in a graphic editor and drew a few thicker lines to show how beautiful the color palette of this mushroom is!
