Sterilising water for prints 1

I'm trying to sterilise water for my syringe/prints.
I put boiling water in an egg cup and also a fair bit of boiling water in a saucepan and proceeded to cover the egg cup in foil and then add this to a saucepan of boiling water. I boiled for 5-10 minutes. I'm wondering if this should now be sterile? I'm not sure if the water in the egg cup would of boiled enough to do a good enough job?
Can I have some input as to if this should be sufficient
Thanks in advance

I’m not sure exactly what that means, but if you need a syringe’s worth of sterile water here’s how you do it:
Boil water for 5-10 minutes Suck boiling water into empty syringe Void syringe Suck boiling water back into syringe Cap and store
You now have a syringe that is sterile and full of sterile water. Let it cool and flame the needle before use as usual.
Now if you’re trying to sterilize a dish to do the work in, PCing a half pint jar or something like that is good. In theory you should be able to submerge a ramekin or something for a bit. Empty plastic petris are already sterile. They’d work too

Would this be clean enough for agar work?

I wouldn't personally. I make my sterile syringes when I make my agar. Fill syringe with water, wrap in foil and place in a jar with needle facing up then Pc with the agar. Leave in foil till inside SAB

I’m not sure what benefit there is to making a syringe for agar worn when you already have a print. It’s 100% usable for PF tek, I’ll say that much. It’s as good as any other syringe you’d get.
I’ve also PC’d jars of distilled water and just sucked into a sterile needle.
Ultimately I don’t see a TON of reasons outside of PF tek to make spore syringes if you already have a perfectly viable print. You can inoculate hundreds of plates from a single print.

Look man at some point you gotta learn things. If you don’t know the best way to get a syringe of sterile water there’s no harm in asking.
Let me hold your hand, bb ❤️

When I make spore plates from a print I don't make a spore syringe, but I still add a drop of sterile water to help hydrate the spores. This is especially helpful with older spores IMO.
I also use syringes of sterile water for Josex Poke to make LC

Absolutely man I do those things too. All great uses. There’s definitely reasons to make syringes or sterile water. For what it’s worth, I’ve done the poke with the boiling water method with 100% success rate.
I was just saying idk why you’d want to use a homemade syringe for agar

No, the water is not considered sterilised after boiling for 5-10 minutes on 100 degrees Celcius.
Maybe good enough / sufficient for your purpose, but it is not considered sterilised when cooked on 100 C for 5-10 minutes.
