hey all you mycological sons a bitches! so i haven't been on the shroomery in quite a while. looks like some practices have changed in the last couple of years. i see people are using micro-pore tape now instead of polyfill. my question is this though. polyfill can be packed looser or tighter but how does one dial in their fresh air exchange using the tape? are there different types with more or less airflow?

You can double or triple em up but 2 layers is usually the most I use when it’s real dry out

On my old tubs with the 1" holes, I put one layer of micropore over the top holes on the short sides, and two layers over the bottom holes on the long sides.

If I were making a new tub I wouldn't mess with the big holes.  I'd make an EZ Dial instead.

The micropore tape is a lot cleaner, faster and easier to place into monotubs over polyfil. Use 2x micropore tape on each of the monotub holes.

Polyfill and micropore tape both work. I haven't found one to be better than another. No need to change it up if you have either one on hand

thanks guys. so it seems from the replies that there's no one best way to do it. i've been going through my pillow sized bag of poly for years now and i'm finally nearing the last couple of fists full. guess i'll give the tape a try in the near future.
