Vet Treats Stoned Cats, Dogs,

Vet treats stoned cats, dogs
July 8, 2004

"A VICTORIAN vet is treating more than a dozen stoned cats and dogs a year because negligent owners are feeding their pets cannabis cookies and cake.

Dr Neil Howard says confused pets have flooded his veterinary surgery in Torquay, Anglesea and Lorne, in Victoria's south-west.

He says the problem has been around for 10 years and isn't going away.

Dr Howard says many cases are an accident but some pet owners are deliberately feeding their dogs cannabis. He says the animals could be in danger by their dazed state of mind but the problem is too widespread to report to police or the RSPCA.

The Australian Veterinary Association says the association isn't aware of the problem. "

My dog once ate an entire pot poundcake with ~2 ounces in it. The dog woke up about 6 hours later and was fine.

This has to be made up, what stoner actually cares if his pet eats some pot. Besides maybe being pissed if you wanted it =b.

I don't think they should worry too much about this "problem" hehe

In a slightly more extreme version of this article, an aqaintance of mine once put his cat in an X-BOX box, made a bong out of the box, and proceeded to smoke with it. For 2 hours. Straight.

The cat was released from the box, only to wobble a few steps and end up projectile vomiting and shitting simultaneously. Then he passed out.

Bottom line, it hasn't killed anyone, animal or human....pet owners need to calm down.

Some of my friends and I, this was when I lived in Florida, would be smoking out of his Water bong, and his dog would come up and sit down and watch us, so we would all take a hit then cup our hand arround his nose and blow the smoke into his nose, then the dog would eat some food, like a whole bowl, then go to sleep. Could it be dogs get munchies faster than human?!? Well, that's my animal+weed story. And I don't think animals would become sick from eating pot. Unless there are like 3 pounds of high quality dank in a single slice of cake.

Me and my friends do the SAME exact shit when we go to his house. But first his dog darts everywhere around his backyard then just chills with us and eats.

Oh I agree! I just thought some might find this article of interest. I've found most cats seem to like weed, although I don't know about dogs. I'm just against giving animals anything stronger, as I've seen what Acid will do to an animal.

I once saw a little Chihuahua who ate a quarter about 2 hours earlier. Apparently it was all wobbly headed and kept falling asleep. But after about 3 or 4 hours and a nap he was all good. :stoned:
