Favorite boxes?

What's your favorite box for transporting quart jars?
I end up moving jars all the time up and down multiple stairs. Does anyone have a preferred box they're using for this purpose? The boxes ball jars come in are absolute trash for moving them around.

i've found that the box they come in works great, put another quart box on top & they handle well.
i'm not sure why you're moving them between floors so often. perhaps install a dumbwaiter?

I was grocery shopping high one time and accidentally stole one of the handheld baskets and have since bought a couple more from a local co-OP, they are great for holding at least 12 quart jars at a time.

Grow area, pressure cooker, and storage of empties are all on different floors. I used to move jars around 2 or 3 at a time, since everything was really close together, but now that I've moved to a larger place, I'm trying to keep the number of trips between areas to a minimum.
I've also started pressure canning soups a lot, so I feel like there are jars everywhere all the time. The best I've come up with so far is a cardboard wine holder I got from the grocery store which kind of holds 6 jars and has a nice handle.
I feel like at some point I'm going to make some boxes myself out of 1/4 inch plywood.

Now you're giving me ideas.

There are these things: https://jarbox.com/

I have a bunch of totes that I think are Rubbermaid roughneck containers and they hold 15 jars each.

Those purpose made things are kind of expensive. Maybe I should just measure out what I'm hoping for dimensions wise and go check out the container section of a big box store.

big plastic bins without dividers will buckle at the bottom when picked up, knocking the jars against each other. making a divider grid with cardboard can help a bit.
although if you're at the point where you need to buy more equipment to lug all your jars around it might be worth checking out bags

Why not organize things to where they all live together?

Personally, because I share my home with other people and I don't have the storage space in the kitchen to just have my hobby overtake the common areas.
As it is, I store my jars and pressure cookers and buckets o' grain in the garage and schlep them upstairs when it's time to make grain.

I know the pain of hauling grain and sub upstairs. A good workout for sure

Because my kitchen is where all the vinegar experiments live.

I feel like I should just be less particular about how they fit into the box.
It's less important for grain jars, but it's not great to jostle around canned soups.
I guess some cardboard dividers would probably be sufficient.
