Using BIG logs for cultivation
    #28691031 - 03/08/24 02:01 AM (10 months, 4 days ago)

It seems to me that most log cultivators tend to grow on those that are 4-8" diameter. I'm planning on using freshly cut oaks that are about 10-11". Any ideas on how thick logs effect the grow?

King oysters are pretty based. How long do you think it'll take to grow such on the big lads?

You'll get better responses in the gourmet and medicinals forum.

That said, I think those would work well.  If you prop them up, so the cut is resting on the ground, the xylem pathways are still operational and the mycelium should be able to pull moisture up from the dirt.

But I've never done it, just read about it.  So, I'd still ask here.
