White specs - possible contamination - too much moisture.
    #28688985 - 03/06/24 04:41 PM (10 months, 6 days ago)

Good afternoon everyone! I left these for a few days and unfortunately they gathered a little too much moisture. Afterwards I saw these white specs appear around the tubs, and they don’t look like pins to me. I’m hoping that’s just the mycelium not knowing what’s going on and trying to breath, but I could be wrong. I’ve got multiple tubs going and these are what they are looking like. I didn’t open up the air until today, even though I should have at least a little bit to give them some room to breathe about 5-6 days ago. I could see the moisture building too much but thought they’d be okay. Any thoughts would be great. Hoping they’ll be okay.

I was so worried about the moisture that today I gently rested a paper towel in each tub to soak up some water. That is the reason they aren’t covered in beads right here if that helps.

I’m not sure if I’m looking at the beginnings of mycogone or not

This is very similar to how my last shoebox looked, then all those little blobs turned into pins. 🤘

I’m totally new at this, but I’d say stay the course and don’t do anything drastic.

Thank you everyone! I realized more and more after I soaked up some of that water that this was exactly what was going on. A hour after that post and they’re already looking healthier, plus I opened up FAE and I’m sure they’re happy now. They were just having a hard time, but I’ll check in after a couple days, especially if I’m wrong for some reason. It’s definitely not mycogone, just way too much moisture preventing the mycelium from thriving. Thanks again everyone.

They are hyphal knots , they'll turn into primordia soon.
