Inoculating agar in 55F temperatures?
    #28685167 - 03/03/24 02:13 PM (3 months, 22 days ago)

First time with agar. inoculated a couple days ago using loop with miss syringe. No visible growth yet as expected but I am a bit worried about the ambient temperature. It stays around 50-60F in the room.
Is this going to be too cold to germinate the spores?

They’ll be alright. Will just drastically increase the time it takes for every stage of growth.

Good deal, maybe I’ll throw them into an incubation chamber so that I don’t need to heat the entire area.

Winter’s almost over here it’ll be nice to not have to worry so much about the temperature 🤙

Just make sure you don’t put any direct heat on em. Like put them on top of a heat mat.

For sure, this has been my first time growing with winter temps and a few times there I was just wishing I waited until spring haha
