Surface conditions changing... advice??

Hey guys I have a monotub that I am attempting to get going. I used Pasteys ez dial method and all has been great so far.. until today. It looks like the surface that was fluffy and white is now becoming less fluffy and an odd color. The box is less than 2 weeks old and is Z strain which I've had good success with in shoe boxes. Rapid development... easy... seems contam resistant and carefree. Twice daily misting. Any advice or opinions?? Thank you in advance!

Looks really dry in the bottom left corner. You shouldn’t need to be misting so much. Or really misting at all for that matter. Close up all of the holes for a few days, get it misted one last time and leave it alone. The holes you have drilled are pretty big and really close to the sub. Looks like it’s drying it out too fast. If you decide to leave some holes open the top and start with one hole on each side.

Looks on the dry side, if you feel it is losing moisture fast and perfect conditions keep receding, its probably smart and safe for you to close some of the air holes. Cubes are very CO2 tolerant, and heavy large substrates with a lot of surface, are even more vulernable to having too much air exchange. Remember cubes can fruit heavily inside a blown up CO2 bag with only a single filter for air exchange
To do this carefully, dont overdo anything, and keep a close eye on it a few days. neither close all holes or drown it, but mist it some while closing one hole, and check how it looks in the evening or the next day.
A picture of your surface in close detail and good focus would help people to diagnose for you
Combined with pictures showing all air holes/air circulation, this can probably fruit satisfyingly.

Thank you for the reply! After covering up most of the holes I woke up to side wall condensation and the start of pins...
