Hi , first time grow here using GT and have a grow bag kit . Thinking of trying a 6 litre shoe box instead of the bag to see if i get a higher yield from it ?? Or am I better as a noob to just run with the bag ? Thanks

If you want high yields, you shouldn´t trust in foreign made growkits.
A bag should be enough for a mini mono, but you should tell if it´s an AIO bag, means is it with substrate or just grains? And what volume is the bag?

If you were thinking of cutting away some of the plastic and placing it in a tote with perfect conditions, then ok, yeah, sure
but if you break up your kit, you may kill it
you may also kill it by opening it
If the growbag is well made, has enough nutrition and water in the actual substrate, it will fruit fine, and you can send it to a tub for the 2nd flush since you'll need to remove the bag or cut it to harvest the flush anyhow
the THIRD (3) option is if you think you'll get more by cutting away the bag and like casing it with vermiculite, dunking it, or doing anything to secure no loss of moisture from surface and that the surface itself is saturated. to determine that you need to understand what you are doing, if not, it adds risk, not necessarily great but it does add risk, to fuck with the bag.
(assuming this is a mix substrate bag)
Grains ofc must be spawned, but if your growkit is not pure grains, it might be intended to fruit inside the bag for the first flush
god knows a lot of cube gangsters make bags like this to skip the step of the hosting grower fucking up the spawning, the coir and the whole monotub process
