How many flushes do you do?

Maybe I'm a tad lazy, but I kinda hate finishing out a flush. The whole cleanup/soaking process is easily my least favorite chore in this hobby.
While I was doing it last night, I was wondering where you all fall on the subject. I've limited experience, but from what I've seen and read, it seems clear that the first flush is the most productive -- most of the time. Or am I wrong? Subsequent flushes yield larger fruits, but sparser yields, yes?
How many of you choose to not even mess with subsequent flushes?

On the rare occasion that I do a second flush I simply use the sink sprayer to soak the top of the sub and put the lid back on.
I never go past 2 flushes anymore. Starting a new jar is faster and more productive most times.

Getting your sub ready for a second flush is Ezpz, like Rockin said. I just bottom water it and spray the surface.
It’s really all up to your needs. If I don’t have anything ready to replace the tubs in my cabinet I let them go for a few extra flushes. Doesn’t hurt anything and it’s no real work.

I go for 2 usually, but sometimes I'll go for more if I don't have anything else to fruit.

Yeah, my last round I had a 20-qt tub of AA+ that I took to 4 flushes. Amazingly, I actually came out with a higher wet yield in my second flush, but a stark decline after:
284 - 259 - 178 - 121
I can't complain about the end result.

2. Maybe 3 if there is not a new tub to replace with it.

I love AA+, it's my go to. The second flush always seems to throw out some big ones.

It all comes down to efficient use of fruiting space.
If I have no new projects coming, I let things flush until they go green or stop producing fruits worth harvesting.
If I need the space, I might toss a sub (or block, I grow edibles too) after the first flush.
I have a tub of Pan Cyans now that was just dunked for its fifth flush. I have a lot of room in my tent, so why not leave it? Also, this sub probably had more nutrition than it needed. So, the fourth flush yield was still decent for the footprint.

Seems like everyone is saying pretty much the same thing. I dunno. Maybe my "process" for turning over a flush is out-of-date...? I've been soaking a tub for at least a few hours. It's messy. I get water all over the place. I have way too many fruits at the moment, so was just toying with ideas I guess.

Yes, I find they have no body load, great for microdosing.

If you use less spawn you can usually get 90%+ of the total yield in two flushes, sometimes one with good genetics.
People that I see bragging about how many flushes they get always have shit yield every lfush and that’s why they get so many. The better you get at dialing things in the less flushes needed.

Like others have said, if the yield is sufficient for input your first flush or 2 will give you the most value for time, given genetics and your growing parameters.
But I have gone F6 which was shit, just an experiment. For some strains I've gone f4/f5 to take huge dark spore prints. Usually f3 is my cutoff though.

What is expected yield? Someone told me an oz per qt jar of spawn

I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for the info mate, I'll put it to good use.

A dry ounce per quart would be like the minimum acceptable amount. Usually like 35-50g is more common.

Edible mushrooms. A lot of species are grown on sterilized sawdust blocks. I fruit them either in a tent or an enclosure outside.
But the same idea applies generally, most growers have more colonization space than they do fruiting space.
So it's a balance between what you're getting out of the flushes and what you could be getting if you were using a fresh substrate. And of course how much work and resources you want to put into a fresh grow.
My general rule of thumb is, if I need the fruiting space and it's already flushed twice then I'm going to move something in there. Otherwise I'm going to either let it go until it's infected or it's putting out such small fruits that I don't feel like fucking with it. In which case it becomes compost, which ultimately gets recycled back into my grows anyway.
