Should I try to get all of the pins that didn’t mature off of the sub?

Once the tubs are done maturing should I try to get all of the pins that didn’t mature off the sub before 2nd flush or will they grow with the second flush? Also do you see that blueness is that something to be worried about?

It's kind of a personal preference/judgement call.

Pictures can be hard to decipher, but the fruits with blue caps look like aborts to me. Those are immature fruits that stop growing before maturity, which is pretty common and can happen for a variety of reaons.

I'd say people typically let fruits go until they mature, leaving aborts to just kind of sit there and rot. I'll sometimes try to remove them to free up space for new pins and avoid issues. I'll also pick immature fruits when I find it convenient, e.g., I just want to scrape a substrate clean and be done with it. There is some debate over whether immature fruits are more potent per unit weight. I just side-step the issue altogether by grinding and mixing everything together.

There is no such thing as a flush in biological terms. We impose that abstract concept on our substrates. In a "perfect" scenario, you get a bunch of fruits that all mature at the same time,  and form a full/even canopy across the entire surface. In that situation, the fruits that come in a bit later will be crowded out or starved of resources until you pick the canopy. In many cases, though, fruits just come in whenever a few at a time, and we pick them whenever. Sometimes you can sort of "prune" mature fruits and crowded-together immature fruits from a tub, allowing the latest pins to mature without aborting.

Beware of advice- even this.
