5f drop in temp at beginning of flush causing aborts...

So I've noticed that if my grow room temp drops during the ramp up of a flush, It can not just slow, but cause aborts in a heavy pinset. conversely, a warming during that time can cause the flush to 'bolt' and flush fast and with thin hollow fruit.
Has anyone experienced this? Maybe its just my strain of golden teacher.

5 degrees isn’t much, I don’t think I’d correlate that with a larger percentage of aborts. Slower growth sure, but my current temps fluctuate 10-15 degrees throughout the day and I haven’t noticed anymore aborts than usual.
Probably more so has to do with genetics and other environmental conditions like contams, being too wet, or very dry but it’s hard to say.
Was it a significant amount of the pinset?

Ive been running the same isolate for years. Lots of sample runs to judge against. I'm slowly learning to be more controlling over the temperature, at least with this strain. My temperature only varies a degree or two (the lights heat up the area) But every so often I mess up and drop the temp when the mycelia is gearing up for a flush. I've noticed that there is a substrate heat spike around a 75-100 percent colonization and again in the middle of the flush. Its like the cold takes the wind out of the momentum of the flush.

Interesting, sounds like your GTs just like staying nice and cozy.
If it’s really impacting your yields it might be worth taking some spore prints and then try to select for a culture that doesn’t mind the temp swings as much. Sounds like you’ve got pretty good control over your climate though if a 5 degree change is out of the norm so maybe it’s not that big of a deal.
Would love to see some comparisons between tubs that stay at a constant temp and one where it had a drop in temp.

These really do seem to thrive with minimal swings in humidity and temp. A tub left alone is way more apt to push up a large flush than one checked on daily. I just finished my inkbird temperature control over an AC unit and a curtained off corner of a warehouse. I've managed to control it manually pretty well until some recent weather surprises.
Wish me luck! and yes, I should strive for another strain, but when this one is babied, I get great results. (took a long time to arrive at it)
