Third attempt at this badass hobby.

This is my third growing attempt. No success as of yet. But I am learning more as I go. I have since learned that starting by culturing spores on Agar for inoculating grain, not using AIO bags, is the ideal up-to-date method that I have found on The Shroomery. But, back about a month ago, on Jan 13th, I started with three different strains of Liquid culture (GT, Z-strain, and B+) in three 10cc syringes. I injected 5cc each into six All-In-One bags from inside a SAB. I used the aseptic technique as best I could. As an RN I would hope I got that down somewhat.
About 13 days ago, on February 15th, I committed just the two resulting GT spawn bags to one monotub and two shoeboxes. I used a Coir/Verm/Gypsum mix as the substrate for the mono-tub and 2 shoe boxes. I put a pseudo-casing of the same substrate, minus the spawn, in all the boxes as the top layer. I have not noticed any pinning or condensation droplets on top of the mono-tub yet. I am trying to figure out just how and when I am to introduce fruiting conditions to the mono-tub. The mycelium in the shoe boxes is yet to break the casing layer.
For the remaining four bags of spawn, I have purchased 4 additional 66 qt boxes and prepped them using the EZ Dial Beefy Tub method this time.
If any experienced members could take a look at my pictures and let me know how healthy you think the spawn bags are that would be great. Also, does the mono-tub surface look okay or is it F'd up?
I plan on nixing the gypsum and possibly also the vermiculite unless I mix too wet in my upcoming substrate.
Any suggestions for the next steps I need to take would be greatly appreciated! Happy trails...

First of two shoe boxes, 13 days since bulking, side view.

The next picture is of one of my two shoe boxes 13 days after bulking.

This last picture is of the surface of my mono-tub. 13 days since spawn to bulk substrate introduction...

Introduce fruiting conditions at spawn always, no need to choke them at all, those bags seem ok, maybe a little bacterial but you should get fruits and your tubs look fine, 13 days is about the soonest I’d expect to see pins but if it hasn’t been in fruiting conditions from the start you’re just holding it back, environmental factors like temperature can slow things also. Get your agar work and grain bags down so you’re not relying on vendor LC’s and grow bags, then it’ll be easier to track if things go wrong and where they went wrong, you’ll get there👍 I reckon the tub in that last pic barring any surprise contam will start showing fruits by the weekend dude. Can’t tell from the photos but if there isn’t fine droplets on the surface myc just give it a light spray also.

I am a bit confused. You said you arent using all in one grow bugs but the LC you got were used on all in one grow bags?
Based off the pics things look actually pretty good. I personally have never had success or see much success with AIO bags so I would recommend making your own grain and sub going forward.

Thank you for your input. Sorry for the confusion tho. I meant to say that I "should not" have used AIO bags, but I "did". It was before I knew they were not ideal. I am glad you guys feel things are progressing as they should. I do plan on learning agar and grain soon for sure.

It appears that some growers add manure, or worm castings, to the bulk substrate. Is this addition only helpful for particular cube strains? If it is helpful, how much to add? Another newbie question: Is it beneficial to hydrate your spawn before adding it to your bulk substrate?

i recommend if you are doing cubes that you focus on clean spawn first. The bulk is literally just coir, i would recommend you use bucket tek to hydrate coir but others may not think this is necessary. understanding field capacity and making sure youre at or slightly under field capacity is also super important. if you arent sure about those things i recommend reading/rereading the hitchhikers guide.

Probably outdated info, where did you read this? Just coir is fine, coir/verm is also fine.

Sounds like you been cruising reddit.
about the only actives that need poo are Pans and even those can be grown on plain coir.

Yea, I think I was in the Pans section. But, no, no Reddit. I am guilty of You Tubing early on tho. Thanks, ya'll.
