Is My Grain Ready for Birthing and Agar/Grain Transfer

Hello! Does my grain spawn look ready at this point?

I inoculated 6 jars with spores and of them only this one seemed to take off. I plan on transferring some of the grain to agar and some to more grain and then birthing the rest in a small shoebox. Does this sound solid?

Sorry but that doesn't look good. Spores to grain is bad.

those jars are bacterial as hell, youd be so lucky to get fruit from that. indeed you must start over. do not inject spores to anything but a pf cake. get clean culture on agar or use lc to inject. (liquid culture), you must also test that on agar to make sure its not tainted.

yes germinate your spores on agar. you have sab or flow hood yes?
after you germinate you will want to take small transfers and donate to a blank plate until you have clean culture.

What makes you guys think that? I just opened it and gave it a whiff and it didn't smell sweet or sour or anything. My sense of smell is a little weak but I didn't get anything strong. Does it help knowing I am using brown rice as my grain?

The smell test is worthless. You get an eye for this stuff once youve done it for awhile. Those jars are highly contaminated.
