Usually you only need a portion of a print from a single mushroom cap to create one spore filled syringe. This depends on the size and density of the deposit, just remember that spores are microscopic and only visible when they are clumped together by the thousands (so just think about how many are actually in a print...).

The cap should be allowed to print for at least 24 hours. Sometimes, with good depositors, you can actaully "move" the mushroom cap to a new surface after only 10-12 hours to get multiple prints from the same cap. Just make sure your cap stays covered during printing with something like a bowl or cup, ect.

If you need a good syringe making guide from print to perform microscopy at home, check out: www.sporeworks.com/syringetek.html
