Tiny fruits on the first flush, should I start over with a different variety?

Hi, I'm on my 2nd B+ tub now, approaching the first harvest and it seems like the fruits are going to be tiny again. The biggest ones are around 2" or 5cm tall and the caps are starting to open up.
I read that this is likely to be due to genetics and perhaps B+ specifically, I've read several posts from other people commenting about small B+ fruits on the first flush. Could I get much larger fruits if I started over from spores using a different variety - and if that's the case, any recommendations?
I think my moisture levels are good, spawn:sub ratio is roughly 1:4 with a 1cm compressed top layer of coir, I paid attention to the field capacity when preparing it. I kept the lid on during colonization and I only cracked it open once the pins filled in, so the surface is nice and moist without any additional misting.

I'd love to get fewer but larger fruits, I'd be happy with 4" Thoughts?

It's not always genetics, you may not have had clean spawn, insufficient water, not enough or too much fae...etc
It's not always genetics especially considering some of us are able to get big fruit regardless.

It's not the size it's the content..

It's not the variety. Looks like they ran out of moisture.

Thanks for the help. I'm definitely not ruling out my spawn. I'm still working my cultures, clones, and trying to get more vigorous and clean growth on agar.
Regarding FAE, I think it's almost impossible that they're getting too much of it right now (I've only cracked the lid a bit). I can try increasing it, but I should note that I had significantly more FAE in my first EZ dial tub and fruits were more or less the same size on the first flush, they got way bigger in subsequent flushes (around 6" or 15cm).
I really don't believe that it's moisture related though. My coir was at field capacity (a few drops came out when squeezed) and I kept the lid on this unmodified tub the entire time it was colonizing (8 days + 4 days for early pins/fruits to form), so there was little to no evaporation until 4 or 5 days ago and there should be plenty of water available, unless I'm missing something?

True! More than happy with the potency in my first tub, I've given some away and I still have enough to last me at least a year so I don't know what I'm going to do with fruits of any further experiments.
